Maybe it was the trilogy by George R. R. Martin? A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, and A Storm of Swords.
I just bought A Clash of Kings earlier today because this friggin' author rocks. I used to read a lot of fantasy books when I was younger and I just recently picked up this series. I reccommend it to everyone who likes fantasy at all. 10/10. |
:-\ I read the reviews of those books. The setting is definately similar, but they're not the same books. Anybody else? I know it's a reach, but I'd really like to be able to find these books again.
--------------- I just emailed my Jr. High. I asked if I could come and look through the library in hopes of finding the books. *crosses fingers* They probably won't get back to me until fking fall, but I guess we'll find out. |
Its not this one, but The Tripod Trilogy is pretty good (The White Mountains, City of Gold and Lead, and The Pool of Fire)
|
Yeah, the White Mountain series was pretty good; just don't make the mistake of picking up the prequel (When the Tripods Came or somesuch), because it's a snore fest.
|
I recently saw the War of The Worlds and it kept reminding me of the Tripod trilogy, or is that just me?

I have gone thru Dragonlance and put my order in for the next 2 in your list Bob. Its no LOTR but its still very good none the less. Thanks for the recomendations :) |
Woot. Glad ya liked it.
My favorites are the 2nd trilogy listed there. Raistlin > All |
Raist is pretty bad ass. Too bad hes a bastard tho.
|
Oh that makes him all the better, though.
Incredibly powerful + extremely physically fragile + emotionally troubled / evil(?) = great character. |
