Well fuck a duck! You're getting screwed.

Thanatos 2007-06-29 10:57 AM

Women drivers suck.

I'm a great driver, Now...

My insur with an 01 car that i'm paying off is 219 a month, with full coverage, no wrecks but I have had 2 "outrageous" speeding tickets, 63 in a 45, and 76 in a 45.. blah, but what's weird when I had my jeep, my rates only went up a little bit (when I got the tickets), but when we put the strat on the coverage, it went from 93 --> 219... /month. Sucks

kyeruu 2007-07-08 07:11 PM

THAts the fault of the goverment.

Thanks for posting.

I know males are more likely to get into an accident ...but I'd like it if they factored in miles driven, etc. I'm sorry, but most of the females I know are a lot worse drivers than the males. I guess guys just push the envelope too much.

Elderly drivers make me nervous. I hate to be prejudiced, but their reaction time is just naturally worse than (most) younger people.

Minivan moms who talk on cellphones while speeding through school zones piss me off.

I absolutely loathe old drivers. I believe they should go into the DMV routinely (maybe every year) and take a test to determine if they can keep driving, starting at age oh.... 70.

This is a true story, no exaggerations: I was at the liquor store waiting on my friend to come back when the old lady that parked next to us got back in her van to leave. It took her five (5) minutes to back out of her spot. She would go about an inch, brake, look back, go another inch, brake, look back. THERE WAS NOTHING BEHIND HER.

There's no telling what the elderly are capable of when driving.

HandOfHeaven 2007-07-09 08:02 AM

Have you seen the South Park episode of old people driving?

Thanatos 2007-07-09 09:38 AM

Hell yeah I have. It's hilarious.

klo 2007-07-09 09:41 AM

My dad is like that :(. He's just extreeeemly "careful"

Vault Dweller 2007-07-09 10:23 AM

What makes me wonder is how some of these older people who can barely walk without assistance and have obvious muscular or neurological damage (as evidenced by perpetual shaking) are capable of operating what amounts to a motorized leathal weapon.

klo 2007-07-09 10:34 AM

Oh, my dad's not that bad. But...
My uncle, he has parkensins (sp) and he can barely talk..walk. He had a lot of money (millions) but soon after being diagnosed lost (gave) it all...to some girl he was sleeping with.
He was still driving in Phoenix Az until about 5 or 6 mos ago when he caused 3 accidents in one week. It's actually really sad.

Vault Dweller 2007-07-09 11:33 AM

Agreed. How do you go about telling someone that they don't have the right to drive anymore after decades? The car is the true American symbol of freedom, moreso than the flag or the Statue of Liberty or DisneyLand or what have you.
One of my customers had his liscense taken away after a couple of accidents (he's in his late 70's and had a stroke several years ago), and you could tell it just crushed him. For older guys, taking away their right to drive is the effective equivalent of neutering them (an action generally already performed in the literal sense by age). It is a really sad situation to be in, but necessary sometimes.
Shit...that was depressing.

!King_Amazon! 2007-07-09 03:07 PM

It seems like drivers are getting worse every day here. The elderly are bad, but there are some normal aged people who can't drive for shit either.

D3V 2007-07-09 03:17 PM

They need to just make the elderly re-take their driving test when they hit the retirement age... simple as that. I mean my own relatives for the most part, they are excellent drivers, but when I"m on my way to work or out in town or anything they're usually trying to be too safe, in-turn putting people in danger.

gruesomeBODY 2007-07-09 08:19 PM

I hate to say it but drivers tests dont prove shit. Everybody can practice for a test and pass. The problem is that people are breaking the law, and doing it knowingly. Cops need to punish more often and make fines real stiff if they want to get the point across. My friend got pulled over doing 95 in a 65 zone and had to pay a 350$ ticket. THATS IT. IF he got his license taken away, maybe he would learn his lesson. I hate to be the bad guy, but i see so much stupid shit happen without consequences. Assholes need to be punished for thier actions.
