I was Googling and Wikipedia'ing for a long time before I realised what the Three Bar Club was. You had me thinking of a chain of clubs, the distinguishing feature of which is that they all have three bars. I even very quickly sketched one out - triangular room, a bar on each side, glass floor looking down on the dancefloor the story below, with stairs leading down to it, tables on the glass floor for people to sit and drink at.
