British Humor sucks. At least in America it does.

And I'm sure across the ocean American humor seems vulgar and dumbed down.

I blame rednecks.

Over the pond American humour just seems to be stale. Sure, there's the odd laugh but a lot of it is awful.

I've seen a few clips of the Colbert report, and laughed once or twice. But that's about it. The only other American program that's made me laughed is The Late Show (I think it's called) and that doesn't count - the guy who hosts it is Scottish.
