we never said that we like all the FF series and Chrono Trigger but hates Chrono Cross... we all know that some of the FF games cant compare against CC cuz for one reason... it was just horribly made.... like FF8 and 10 for instance.

maybe i must play the old school rpgs like CT and secret of mana and so on too. maybe then i understand ur dislike.

Secret of Mana wasn't really an RPG.. but it could be one, but in my opinion, RPG is when you command the character what to do, instead of running around and slashing monsters as you go just like Zelda. But Secret of Mana was a pretty good game, but never got half way through the game lol.

ya the real time combat killed it :(

It's an RPG plot-wise but the real time combat is a bit strange.

I'm going to play FF5 instead. Only one I've never played.

The real time combat was what made it awesome.

when you think so about real time combat and rpgs then there are many rpgs that are no rpgs for example diablo 2 and i belive that there are "some" people who say that this is a rpg. (me included)

But in case of diablo we talk more about an action rpg.

You are right... lots of people know Diablo as an RPG... and I do admit that it IS an RPG its just a different type. There are more than one RPG as you've probably noticed throughout all your gameplays.

In case of D2 is getting exp and push up his character the rpg effect. But the rest ....

that's true a real rpg must have more then that like an epic story, more sub quests, mini games, more chars and the chars must have their own personality.
i think in the most real rpgs you can find most of these points.

ah i forgot to say that. you're right and it must be fun to play when it is boring then the rpg with the best ideas is shit.

"real" RPG in my opinion=characters wait for me to use the command menu to do anything. Walk around and fight random monsters and gain EXPs. Do quests, and carry on with the story of the game. Have party of characters to choose from. Summons, magics, items and special abilities(such as limit breaks) are a must.
