ooh. someone told me that it was a movie and i was afraid they ruined it.

Lenny 2006-08-12 09:32 AM

Well... it has been made in to a film, but not in the same way things like The Da Vinci Code, Narnia, Hitchhikers and whatnot have.

Have you seen a film called The Hours? It's based on the Virginia Wolfe book "Mrs. Dalloway", but instead of being the same plot as the book, it shows how the book has affected the lives of three women from different periods. And there are references to the book, and slight snippets of the plot. I imagine that's the same thing they've done with Finding Holden/CitR.

I couldn't finish watching Jarhead. It was boring.

Lenny 2006-08-12 01:40 PM

It's supposed to give an idea of what life out there is like, right? And if life out there is boring, then the film will be boring, no?

JRwakebord 2006-08-12 02:25 PM

Can the logic, lenny!

gruesomeBODY 2006-08-12 03:31 PM

always the smart one lenny is

Lenny 2006-08-12 04:57 PM

Boring films always remind me of Sean Penn. Especially if they're deep.

JRwakebord 2006-08-12 05:58 PM

What the fuck? Lenny what's the matter with you?

Lenny 2006-08-12 06:14 PM

Just been watching a film that reminded me of Sean Penn. :)

It had Nicolas Cage in it.

gruesomeBODY 2006-08-12 06:26 PM

What? Now Gruesome is confused. But this is not new at all.

Lenny 2006-08-12 06:37 PM

I blame the lack of sleep over the past 5 or 6 years.

Willkillforfood 2006-08-13 11:38 AM

You and Queen Elizabeth should eat some spotted dick together =p.

gruesomeBODY 2006-08-13 11:40 AM

or some sheperds pie

Lenny 2006-08-13 11:41 AM

Nah. She's too small and doesn't like humour.

Willkillforfood 2006-08-13 11:44 AM

Welp ...time to go finish up at work.

Titusfied 2006-08-14 05:31 AM

Absolute Power was a GREAT book, but a pretty weak movie. That is definitely the trend with good books gone to the big screen. I actually thought they did The Da Vinci code pretty good. It was basically spot on with the book, which I liked.

JRwakebord 2006-08-14 08:55 AM

Book was definitly better, though.

Lenny 2006-08-14 10:56 AM

It might have been spot on with the book, but it moved far too fast. I didn't think the script was too good, either - a lot of stating the obvious went on.

Lenny should be a director. Wouldn't that be so funny if you became a Director, Lenny?
