Rinoa's Angel Wings was pretty useful. I also just liked her attitude. She just seemed to me like a good character.
But Garnet is better than her. But she had a psychological problem. And when we were in a fight and she couldn't focus I was pissed!! Quote:

Garnet was better than Rinoa. Rinoa just annoyed me, even if her Angel Wings was useful occasionally. I like Rinoa's dog more than I like Rinoa.
And Tifa winnnnnnnnz! |
Gah, noticed this thread went onto 5 different pages. I also can't believe I read all of it just to know why it was talking about Garnet and Rinoa when I first skipped all of it. =\ ANYWAY. I think Tifa owns. She's pretty, she can suffocate Aeris with those melons, she can snap that little Mythril stick with her hands and she was one of the power-houses of the game (Premium Heart is nice for limit, and Gods Hand + Deathblow, is a never missing Power Hit). As for that Garnet and Rinoa thing...I guess I can stand Rinoa, but Garnet, hell no. Im sorry but I can't stand looking at someone with a head the same size as their entire body. (Then again I never really liked FF9 all that much, it was WAY too kiddish and the card game sucked compared to Triad). Only thing interesting about the game was looking at Bahamat's ass kicking and Shiva's new look.

Mmm...Shiva... *drool*
Bah! That's it! I'm requesting FF7 for Christmas! |
The only Shiva I liked was in FFX.
Angelo? I liked Rinoa more than that useless mut. |

Rinoa's USELESS~~~!!! The only Limit Breaks worthy of note are her Invincible Moon, Shooting Star, and her Angel Wing, but then again, she always uses Angelo Cannon, and her Angel Wing casts stupid useless spells most of the time. BTW, how long is she in Angel Wing Limit Break anyway? Garnet became useless after the attack on Alexandria because she wasn't able to deal with the trauma she felt upon leading her own kingdom to its ruin. I was pretty pissed off most of the time because she can't concentrate and can't cast spells or summon properly. Then she gets her hair cut and she reverts to Garnet all over again! I didn't get Ark. But everubody told me it was useless. Damn! She should've stuck on Alexander instead. But then again Madeen would become useless.....:P As I've told you guys a billion times already Aerith would lose if she and Tifa gets into a catfight. If she ONLY gets into a catfight. OK?! Tifa is a fighting chick, well-suited for catfighting. But in other aspects Aerith wins. |

Cerri, I know about FFIX. People undermind me all the time. And since FFIX is my favoirte, I know every aspect of it.
Why are we talking about Rinoa/Angelo/Garnet? Tifa pwns ALL! |
Dagger was way better than Tifa...
|
Dagger was good, but the way she had all the cool summons but couldn't use'em at first was gay. And then she loses them once you can start using a couple of them.
|
Yeah, but it fit in with the story. She just wasn't capable of summoning yet. She'd had no field experience, and only a minimal amount of training, none of it directed towards her summoning abilities. Plus, I liked seeing all of those summons in her list at the beginning and knowing that later on I'd be able to kick somebody's ass with them.
|
What fun would it be if you could just use them all from the beginning anyway? The game wouldn't be a challenge.

@ Raziel
Being the newly crowned Queen of Alexandria as she was, Garnet didn't actually see that one coming. At 16, she was given responsibilities that even she was still unsure of, if her judgment and her other prerequisite skills (^^;;) of being a full-fledged Queen would suffice in order to bring shape out of chaos (that is, reforming Alexandria and ruling it after her mother's death). Then shit happens. Garnet blamed herself for leading her own kingdom to ruin, and she even doubted her capabilities as a Queen, which led to her uselessness in one part of the game. She wasn't even sure if her own capabilities would surpass that of her mother's, who, despite her oddities, was dearly loved by the entire populace. She also has to deal with those misconceptions of being a royal brat who's just about contentedly happy sitting on a throne with a crown on her head. She took everything to heart. It only took a ragtag band of misfits to make Garnet find what she was looking for and in the end, became the Queen that Alexandria was hoping her to be. Garnet: "Someday I'll be Queen, but I'll always be myself." On an added sidenote...WHY THE HELL DID THEY TAKE ALEXANDER OUT OF THE FRIGGING GAME~~~?! I really like the Eidolons, even if they have this goofy "amass your treasure trove of gems" system to make some summons kick even bigger ass then they are normally doing. I never did take time out to collect them all, but seeing Bahamut shoot an enemy party down with his Mega Flare sure does my heart lots of good. Garnet's Eidolon Trance sure is one of them very useful Trances in the entire game. @Jessifer Aerith was more womanly than Tifa in more ways than one. But I agree with you on one point. Who doesn't want to kick ass and look incredibly sexy at the same time? But then again, Aerith's femininity was just part of her character design, as well with her usual plethora of vulnerable stereotypical white mage syndrome characteristics, and I wasn't even aware that she was the main heroine of VII until Rurouni Storm kindly pointed it out to me via the RPG Cliches section. OR maybe, I was blinking too much....:P @Kuja's #1 Garnet is way better than Tifa and Rinoa combined. As for the Rinoa-Angelo-Garnet thingy, I am one of those people responsible for bringing them into light. As we all know, this is a Tifa VS Aerith thread, and for all we know this fight should be brought to the attention by folks way over at the Zelaron Melee forum. As for the number of Tifa fans in this trhead indicate, I could definitely see who's in the glaring red lights of humiliating loss by now....TT_TT but I say Aerith Gainsborough till the END~~~~!!! @Starcraft Ghost The people in FF IX look like a bunch of chibified characters, and it's kinda cool, actually. It's a different leap from the usual well-proportioned characters we get to see all the time. At first I utterly hated the premise but now, I saw why the character designers wanted that particular game to come out chibified. It made the story more endearing. Like we're reading some damn children's fairytale book. But at least it's a very interesting and engaging children's fairytale book complete with monsters, a thief, a princess, several faraway kingdoms, and a villain which makes all our hearts swear that yes, there IS life after Sephiroth. Yatta, yatta, YATTA~~~!!!! |
KA, I was just commenting on it.
|
Here is how i see it.
Alexander cannot be summoned at other time in the game because it took the power the 2 summoner to bring him and Garnet was in a high state of trance. |
Yeah, that's right Kuja. And we never even saw all of Alexander. Just it's wings.
|
|
Hmmmm...I have a question, but I'll start another thread concerning it.
|
So I guess Alexander totally kicks @$$. Too bad, it takes 2 to summon him....TT_TT But Garland has him skewered. NO~~~!!!
