Speed Drawing I

I came across yet another speed drawing thread last night at Sijun with some pretty remarkable artists, so I thought I could as well start a thread here. Just draw really fast, be it pencil, brush, tablet or mouse, and post the results here. The theme for this thread is "evil". Keep the time for your work down to an hour, tops.

The benefit about drawing fast is that you learn more, pretty much. You learn to simplify things without losing the point behind what you're drawing. Tai is definitely the right person when it comes to knowledge about speed drawing, at least from this board.

Anyway, here's my contribution. I'd love to see yours too. :)

More evil people of the same style. Here are some penguin/man mutants, done in about 20 minutes. XD

About 25 minutes this time. I gotta up my speed and drawing skills a lot, but hell, I'm having fun:

Something I doodled about a year ago. Maybe 10 minutes as well, including the color added.

Yes, I know the blood looks funky. And yes, I know it's on lined paper.

Dan XIII 2003-12-09 12:34 PM

*shrug* Meh.

This one goes with my last picture. Drawn around the same time. Less than 10 minutes, I think.

Dan XIII 2003-12-09 12:47 PM

good Jessifer that is less disturbing and yet again you are better at drawing than me.

Tai 2003-12-12 06:37 PM

If you think you can't get there, then you most certainly won't. It just takes practice.

Jessifer 2003-12-12 06:47 PM

I've been practicing since I was 12. Although, I have improved greatly since then.

Tai 2003-12-12 10:55 PM

Some crazy discipline helps too, y'know. As well as willpower. I've been teaching chruser how to draw, so far he's improved quite a bit.

Kuja 2003-12-12 11:21 PM

What about willpower ? ;) Did you teach that too ?

undeadzombieguy 2003-12-13 02:22 AM

yeah without motivation/discipline/willpower ur never going to get any better. Whenever I see drawings that are good I get the urge of drawing something better myself and then I wont stop drawing untill I'm sort of satisfied with the result (can take a very very long time :P)

what program do u use tai ?? I like number 1, 4 and 8 alot. Did u follow any art classes or anything like that ?

Senesia 2003-12-13 02:37 AM

I'm guessing that most of the drawings are by pc and/or oC?

RoboticSilence 2003-12-13 02:38 AM

They are all mouse done, I believe. In paintchat most likely.. although some look done in PS.

undeadzombieguy 2003-12-13 03:17 AM

im gonna work on my shading skills now

Tai 2003-12-13 12:25 PM

I havea 12x12 intuos 2 Tablet (it's a little too big I think, but it works) and I use a program called Paintchat. I use a mouse sometimes to do sketches or warm up, because optic mouses can do different lines then my tablet can. I use them both. Most of those are just a few minutes.

Anyone can have the willpower if they're determined enough. It's all in the mind.

Randuin 2003-12-14 07:09 PM

Evil? Not as good as the other ones... But I tried :P

You'll have to copy and paste

EDIT: Sorry I forgot to mention, 23 minutes, done in OpenCanvas (First time using it :P So I have alot of things that I wanted to do but couldn't find the option... heh)

Jessifer 2003-12-14 08:39 PM

Better than anything I could do. :wierd:

Face practices from today. They're like 30 seconds or something each. Few of them are more. Emphasis was "Less is more?"

Randuin 2004-01-07 08:33 PM

any new topics? ever?

Tai 2004-01-08 04:04 PM

No one really posts here, I could post here, but I'd probably be the only one.
