That depends, did you download it? ;)
I'm just joking. I honestly don't care.

Trigun and Cowboy Bebop are my personal favourites, but you can't go wrong with Lain or NGE if you like just plain weirdness and I do.

And both of Shade's selections are good too.

Hades-Knight 2002-11-24 06:17 PM

has anybody seen saint seiya? i used to watch that thign when it was airing like 4 years ago it was totally awesome

Grav 2002-11-24 06:32 PM

I've seen some of it. I remember it being quite good.

Logic 2002-11-24 10:04 PM

Yo knight I need to talk to you about emule, I jus got it and well I will talk to you some other way...

also I would have to say my 3 favs of right now is
1.Ninja Scroll
2.Spriggan
3.Vampire hunter D: Bloodlust

Oh Yeah can't forget the crazy ass ancestor of anime Fist of the north star

JiN-RaiDeN 2002-11-24 11:17 PM

Samurai X. Doesn't matter which episode, or which movie. They're all bad ass.

Rurouni Storm 2002-11-25 07:08 AM

Samurai X = Rurouni Kenshin

Same show and yes it is a great series ;)

BlueCube 2002-11-25 09:30 AM

Yes, Yu Yu Hakusho (sp?) was great.. I'm liking the new Inuyasha on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim currently, though.

Rurouni Storm 2002-11-25 10:52 AM

Inu Yasha is a great series. Did you know it's currently at episode 98 in Japan and still going?

They haven't even covered half of the released manga, which is also still going.

I never finished watching Yu Yu. I should go back to it sometime.

Strider Fury 2002-11-25 02:53 PM

i remember watching it in Hong Kong while i was like 8, but only got to almost the end of the 2nd series (when the main character fights that musle dude). Canada cant probably never afford to air it. all they're fucking showing is some gay Dragonsballs reruns. goddamn YTV and Teletoons.

Rurouni Storm 2002-11-25 03:23 PM

I know, that's why I have gray market satellite with CN.
CN has it some nights.

Apparently, some of the cable companies are negoitiating with CN as well.

98?? That'll take a lot of Saturday nights to go through. It's like on episode number 10 or something on Adult Swim.. It'd be nice if Toonami carried it, though it's too bloody for daytime TV. And they better not water it down...

Grav 2002-11-25 04:47 PM

I never liked Anime.. it just struck me as childish.. instead, I'm learning with Reader Rabbit

JiN-RaiDeN 2002-11-25 05:55 PM

Anime, childish? Explain.

Yeah, there's at least 50 more episodes to go. Sounds like the manga might be ending soon, though. At least then I'll be able to give a better estimate.

Actually, Adult Swim will soon be running more than one night a week. Inuyasha will be on somewhere from 2-5 nights a week.

Hell Hound 2002-11-25 06:53 PM

i kind a like goast in a shell and fist of the north star plz no flame

Sum Yung Guy 2002-11-25 07:06 PM

ghost in the shell was the first real anime i ever saw, i liked it.

Rurouni Storm 2002-11-25 07:10 PM

Yeah, the series based on it is pretty good too, but I'm waiting for the movie sequel.

Ahem, this surely deserves a

w00t

Rurouni Storm 2002-11-26 09:50 AM

Yeah, to those who have it. Unfortunately, it tortures poor Canucks who don't have CN right now.

Grav 2002-11-26 09:56 AM

I saw what I think you're talking about last weekend.. it put me to sleep

Rurouni Storm 2002-11-26 10:09 AM

Well, anime isn't for everyone. Some people just don't like it.

Hell Hound 2002-11-26 05:56 PM

i love it how when the one guys (can't remeber what they called) hit a normal person they explode the final battle on the movie is pritty fucking sweet too

Logic 2002-11-26 06:04 PM

Yeah it is there characters are nicely drawn out also, I consider it kinda of what made todays anime what they are beens it is so old.

Shade 2002-11-27 07:45 AM

It was made like a good long time ago..compared to newer stuff today it isn't drawn too well, but yes I've seen it. Try one of RS's suggestions like Trigun it's a good series.

Edit: or Berserk if you like lots of action.

Rurouni Storm 2002-11-27 08:27 AM

Here's some suggestions

Action/Comedy with a dark twist: Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Inu Yasha, Outlaw Star (actually, there's a lot of them)
Dark serious action: Hellsing or Noir
Pure Comedy/Bizarreness: Nadesico or Excel Saga
Fantasy: Bastard or .Hack//Sign (where one of my sigs and avatar come from)
Pure Comedy: Irresponsible Captain Tylor (Kind of like McHale's Navy in space)
Star Ocean EX (based on a game, but it has some hilarious moments)

And one that's kind of hard to categorise, Big O. It's like Batman with giant robot fights taking place in a city where no one remembers anything before the last 40 years.

I'll post more as I remember them.

Wiccan][V][asta 2002-11-27 06:38 PM

Hmm... I liked the Vampire Hunter D movies... :)

Rurouni Storm 2002-11-27 07:56 PM

Then you'd like HellSing. It's sort of similar.

Hell Hound 2002-11-28 06:53 AM

i am in the process of downloading .hack//sign with english subs i have episode 6 but i don't want to watch it intil i get the rest i did watch the intro that was pritty sweet

Rurouni Storm 2002-11-29 06:22 AM

It gets stranger and stranger as the series goes on. I'm at episode 18 and they've finally answered a question that's been basically the whole plot so far.

Hell Hound 2002-11-29 10:14 AM

i am still waiting for the mto dl it seems like it is taking forever i have like 10 episodes but i don't have 1 2 or 3 yet so i have to wait

got anything somewhat similar too Jin-Roh or Ninja scroll
?

Rurouni Storm 2002-11-30 09:29 AM

Kenshin is somewhat similar to Ninja Scroll, but there's a lot of humour mixed in.

I assume you're looking for something darker, though. Hmm, try Noir. It's not a ninja type story, but it is quite dark and serious.
