Wave

It isn't the hardest thing to make, but I think it looks nice enough to get posted. Try not to comment on lack of talent, but more on how it looks.

Thanks.

Pretty cool, it doesn't really have a "crest."

Randuin 2003-02-18 07:42 PM

wow to think you've had enough of that abstract crap =\ it looks pretty good i guess... =\

Jamesadin 2003-02-18 07:45 PM

Lol, well most of you are light years ahead of my skill.

Randuin 2003-02-18 07:58 PM

you're right we are :D

Acer 2003-02-18 08:24 PM

It does look night, simple but nice a good Wallpaper for older people.

Tai 2003-02-18 11:50 PM

*yawns* I've always heard to properly and fully use 3D engines, you have to be able to draw by hand in 2D first.

Jamesadin 2003-02-19 06:47 AM

I wouldn't really call this a 3d engine.

Randuin 2003-02-19 09:04 AM

i don't think tai knows what he's talking about

Acer 2003-02-19 11:19 AM

You dont know how to draw, it helps out tho. Its all artistic skills.

Randuin 2003-02-19 04:23 PM

you don't need to learn to draw... that's what concept artists are hired for =\

Acer 2003-02-20 08:13 PM

I agree, like I said it helps, but if you gave me a pencil and told me to draw, you will get a smiley face and thats it. If I put my time into it, I can make some great art on computer. My step-dad has been drawing/painting forever, and he learns quicker than me, but doesnt mean you have ot know how to draw.

Randuin 2003-02-21 08:43 AM

ya... for 3d... drawing is basically practicing your anatomy (which you can learn with 3d anyway) and using your drawings as a reference but we can always hire concept artists to do that... i myself can draw reasonably well (among the general 3d public, not professional concept artists) so i don't have to waste money on concept artists :)

Acer 2003-02-21 03:32 PM

Yeah I cant draw at all, so me and a friend are going to team up. He draws, I model, he textures, and I animate :P

Randuin 2003-02-21 05:09 PM

ooo textures? does he have a tablet? they make your life a HELL alot easier

Acer 2003-02-21 06:15 PM

I dunno, I just he like to texture stuff, he dosent have inet yet, so just downloads stuff here like Models and then textures them.

Randuin 2003-02-21 06:33 PM

well he should really get a tablet if he doesn't have one... he can really get pro :D

Acer 2003-02-21 07:55 PM

What is a tablet? I want to learn about texturing too :P

Actually, I do. If an artist can do what someone does with a 3d program, without the tools they used, they'll be much much more capable when they DO use the tools they used. *shrugs* I don't exactly peg alot or any of the people here as artists.

Randuin 2003-02-21 08:08 PM

tablet is a thing you plug into your computer it's like a pad thing and you get a pen so it's easier to use the mouse to draw... it makes it feel like a real pen/pencil... like a palm :)

Acer 2003-02-21 08:40 PM

Oh I seen those, his GrandFather has one for his Art. I dont think he has one, they cost a lot, right?

Randuin 2003-02-21 09:13 PM

not really... 300~ for a pretty good one... i say that's pretty good ;)

Acer 2003-02-21 10:17 PM

wow, i was thinking a lot higher than that, do you know a link to one? just so I can check it out?

Randuin 2003-02-21 10:23 PM

wacom is the company that make them i think... i don't have a link right off the top of my head but if you go search on google i don' think it should be long til you get some results :)

Acer 2003-02-21 10:28 PM

ok thanks, that seems very interesting

Randuin 2003-02-21 10:32 PM

nod you can get a bigger pad... it's just more expensive :) but i find the 300~ one sufficient enough and good enough :)

Acer 2003-02-21 10:43 PM

If my friend dosent have one of those, I am most likely sure he would get one. He has so much money it makes me sick :P

Randuin 2003-02-21 10:46 PM

lol ya there are people like that... anyway... get a pad, it'll definitely help you with your texturing work and your CG painting work in general :) very useful in deed i'd say

Acer 2003-02-21 10:52 PM

Yeah I am going to look those up for sure, if anything my step-dad(he can draw very well) would help me get it since he would love to use it himself.

Randuin 2003-02-21 11:18 PM

nod definitely :) i've been wanting to color my hand draw drawings on the computer for years... taking that i'm getting a tablet soon that may be possible :D

Acer 2003-02-21 11:57 PM

Nice, yeah thanks for letting me know about those, I told my cousin once I should invite something like that... in these days people think of new things to quickly :P

Randuin 2003-02-22 01:40 AM

you know the great thing about this? (btw bezier: you should get this) it is pressure detect... i mean c'mon... can you say air brushing heaven? :D

Acer 2003-02-22 10:37 AM

what size tablet is a good avg one?

Randuin 2003-02-22 10:55 AM

try the 300 one that would be plenty i say

Acer 2003-02-22 10:57 AM

what is the Size of them? like inch wise?

Randuin 2003-02-22 11:04 AM

not sure, again check the wacom website :D

Acer 2003-02-22 11:18 AM

ok, I just noticed something do they display the screen? I will just go to the site and see.

Randuin 2003-02-22 11:40 AM

only tablet PCs display the screen, normal tablets only move the mouse on your screen :)

Acer 2003-02-22 12:02 PM

I am thinking of getting a tablet PC, I know it would cost more... but would be worth it. My grandparents would loan me the money. I seen one for 2k, it was 21inch very nice but to much $$ for me :P

Jamesadin 2003-02-22 01:43 PM

Acer Randuin Acer Randuin Acer Randuin etc. lol
