Giveaway precautions
Due to leeching from guests, I think that there should be a new section in diabloII forums where people with lets say around 300 + postcounts can go to but nothing less, in this area ppl should be able to beg freely and give out free things without worrying about people leeching them away..
Note, this poll will work differently, if you vote you must have a certain amount of posts i'd say 250.. and only the votes where people vote int heir name will count.. example: I vote yes, i must now post that i voted yes so people can see my postcount and so that they can see who voted.. yes it is important because any genius can go on the board at 3 posts and vote no so they can leech and beg.. Ideas/Oppinions? post on! |
I think is a good idea.
What about spammers? People will spam to that lvl SOOO fast.
I say yes. I'm not worried about spammers that much. If they want to get 300 posts that badly just to get to that forum, we might be able to get them to see how things work around here, and hence, they become a good edition to the community.
I think this is a REAL good idea. Maybe, a forum where only trusted members can go to and those newbs can't just take all the accounts.
Well, this is definitely a good idea, but seriously, other than today, I have never seen someone give away accounts like that before... Still, good idea, but brought upon from rare occassions.
*Voted Yes*
Good idea. I'd set the post count a bit higher though. 300 posts can be reached really quickly spamming in the chat forum. Or maybe restrict spamming.... but that'd be a pain in the ass... even though people bitch about it all the time. Anyhow, ya, I think it should happen. *Thinks about this morning when tacoX posted like 8 accounts and they were all taken before I could even load up D2 and check them* I was like, "Holy shit." Seriously... "Holy shit." |
TacoX seems to giving a lot of accs recently.
What I haven't gotten anything from anyone here and I've been here along time. I mean what the crap is going on.
I voted yes, although I think the forum should be like the test forum, where posts don't count.
I vote yes, i must now post that i voted yes so people can see my postcount and so that they can see who voted.. yes it is important because any genius can go on the board at 3 posts and vote no so they can leech and beg..
i voted yes, my opinions were mostly covered above
I like your idea Ex-Mania
Nobody has said no, even though there are 2 votes for it. Some people just can't follow the directions...
Why even have a begging section find your own stuff... i find it annoying when poeple keep on begging for items.. thats just my .02 cents.
I say more around 600+ posts... very good idea...
I give away accounts all the time, but I find it that guests keep taking them! |

i dont think its fair i dont have 300 posts but i think i can contribute . just cos i dont spamm all over with useless stuff dosent mean i dont offer help or that i shouldnt deserve any help back : ((((( * upset *
People will help you if they respect or recognize you. The post count is just something that keeps leechers away.
Of course, have a high amount of post counts don't mean much. But to a certain extent, it shows one's activity in the forum. And that would basically be a section for those people. |
Lots of the members here don't spam "all over with useless stuff" and still have high post counts. Take me for example.. =) I'm almost to the big 1k, and I was inactive for a good long while.
I think 0nyx was sort of refering to me.
0nyx, 61 posts, joined in Mar 2003. Senesia, 1351 posts, joined in Mar 2003. Actually I haven't voted yet. But things such as Free accounts giveaway should be held in a forum which is at least members only. |
but then all the guest will just come in, just make a passworded' forum . Give the "Trustworthy people" password, and tada, there you go :/
No Sen, nothing about ur posting u offer good advise & offten the most sensible answers too
i dont post as much as u or others cos the question has been answered already , i think its a stupid post , or that alot of posts here get turned to arguments & u dont get the answer u wanted anyway ^^ i was just adding * my 2 cents * |
It is alright 0nyx. It was a joke anyway, and I didn't find your post offensive in any way.
Let's not talk about post count for now. Those forums should keep the guests out, like you've said, Ex-Mania, we don't really need guests leeching from us. The post counts amount is arguable. Like uncapped and 0nyx have stated, people can get those post counts easily if they spam useless stuff all over the place. Some people might want to help to answer a question, but they don't want to restate what people have said. However, if we disregard post counts, it might be hard to decide whether or not a member should have the access to that forum. |
I still think it is a good idea. Fact is, I'd rather give something away to someone I know I will be talking to in the future, and not some "ghost" member, such as guests. Post count is sometimes very important.
I think it should be how long you've been at zelaron, not post count. Going by postcount would only encourage people to spam even more than they do now.
Actually, that is even a better idea. Maybe it should be a certain amoutn of time here at Zelaron, AND at least 75 or so post count.
That way, you've been here long enough, and you weren't just one of those members that showed up one day, registered, and got lucky with this idea to make rules and regulations like this. |
That would count you out Titus ! lol just depends I guess.
I don't get it.
Me either. Nothing new.
It's a very good idea, actually. I'll browse vbulletin.org for any such hacks and see if I can come up with something. Otherwise, I will just pester WW for something. :)
SWEEET!!
