Where will the world be in 200 years?

Well have 1000x the ammount of weapons(which are also 100x more powerful and destructive than today's) that we have at this time. We'll use these weapons to destroy the world. A utopian society is a dream that we'll NEVER even come close to.

Xenn 2003-11-21 06:16 PM

Artificial brain implants.

Mantralord 2003-11-21 06:24 PM

Colgate will develop a toothpaste that whitens your teeth so much, they're Ango-Saxon Protestant.

DaFrigginDoctah 2003-11-21 06:25 PM

I'll be lone gone, let my grandkids worry about that shit.

!King_Amazon! 2003-11-21 06:26 PM

The world will be in the bathroom taking a huge shit.

Sovereign 2003-11-21 06:31 PM

Hopefully we would have grown more responsible with the weapons that we have, and live in a better society then we do now. But thats just wishful thinking.

Sucks to be you. I plan to live forever.

Demosthenes 2003-11-21 06:43 PM

dont think the human race'll be around in 200 yrs...but who knows

J_iceman 2003-11-21 06:56 PM

i'll still be at home, here at zelaron :-P

Jessifer 2003-11-21 07:10 PM

We'll probably be polluting another planet. Hm.

-=Rico-GP=- 2003-11-21 08:06 PM

In 200 years everything will be instant.

In 2000 years everyone will be dead.

RaZ 2003-11-21 10:02 PM

im gonna say are entire race will be wiped out by that point, and i dont think we will have the means of technology to take us to a inhabitable planet, seeing how the closest possible one is like 10 light years away.

Grav 2003-11-21 10:45 PM

I have more faith in the human race than that. Well, in the way that they will survive. They'd probably end up killing 90% of the population though.

Demosthenes 2003-11-21 11:25 PM

in the last 100 yrs there have been 2 global scale wars...

imagine if another happend

-=Rico-GP=- 2003-11-21 11:57 PM

maybe we'll learn from our mistakes

*cough*

Demosthenes 2003-11-21 11:59 PM

one can hope...but thats it

Kuja 2003-11-22 12:42 AM

Without life there is no death.
Without death there is no life.
This is how life work.

We are good at killing each other and we always get better.
It is how we evolve.

We can turn a cure into a weapon in no time and that weapon will be able to do more damage then the cure could ever hope to save.

Yet we cannot take a weapon and transform it to save more the 1/10 the life it can destroy.(If not less)

We are not builder we are destroyer.
We will be there in 200 with much more efficient way to destroy.

I beleive one day we no longer will be called human. We will be called Destroyers Of Worlds.

Eddie_Perez 2003-11-22 03:28 AM

Human race in 200 years? PiSh PoSH!

Penny_Bags 2003-11-22 08:47 AM

To quote Al Einstein, "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will
be fought with sticks and stones." Yeah, the next World War WILL destroy the world. Period.

Thanatos 2003-11-22 11:58 AM

Sad, but true. I just hope it's not in our lifetime.

rusher657 2003-11-22 12:01 PM

There will be hover jets and cars it will be awesome. And the world will be at peace.

Sovereign 2003-11-22 12:05 PM

Thats a very probable scenario. In fact, i believe there are hover cars out now. They are just insainly expensive, and loud from what i have heard. I saw this on tv, i think the discovery channel a while ago. So what you said has a very very good chance of happening.

Eddie_Perez 2003-11-23 03:19 AM

Lol, just look at the 70's movies and how they pictured the world in the year 2000... Since in 15 years, pc's have gone from, playing pong to fully detailed flight simulation(gaming wise).

Chruser 2003-11-23 05:23 AM

Let's see, compound freon gas makes it possible to alter the martian atmosphere in about a hundred years, freeing oxygen that can be sustained by something similar to our geosphere. I'd have to expect about 50 years before we actually send missions like this to Mars though, so we'll have to wait and see.

What else? Hmm, I'm sure we will have found out the truth about dark matter, and why the glaxies of the universe move away from each other with an accelerated speed. Looking back at the past evolution of earth, where we've gone from Chinese rapid fire crossbows in the 11th century, to sub-machineguns 10 centuries later, or Greek flamethrowers before christ to... Modern flamethrowers without much of a difference, I don't think our technological evolution might be so exponential as we think.

We'll most definitely be out of raffined, carbonized fuel in about 70 years, leading to a requirement of finding better sources of energy. Solar power is a waste of power so far, so it could be developed greatly. Fusion or singularity related energy would be ideal, but of course, lots of energy can be used to develop horrendous weapons of mass destruction.
Considering roughly 66.8 milligrams of mass (6.7*10^-5 kg) gives slightly more than the equivalent power of what an average, modern nuclear reactor produces in an entire year, I'm sure you can imagine what the future might hold at bay for us. On top of this, back in 2001, the entire world consumed a total energy equivalent to roughly 553 kilograms of mass. Care to sacrifice your car to power the entire world for 2-3 years of time?

Jessifer 2003-11-23 12:17 PM

I feel like I'm in the bastard child combination of an Advanced Math class and an Economics class...

OmniFalcon 2003-11-27 01:46 PM

1. Hamsters will be overlords, and use their pellet guns to enforce the rules of a pure etopian society!
2. Computers will be hand-held with speeds up to 1,000,000 GHZ! and Hard Drives with up to 1,000,000 T-Bytes of SPACE and COUNTER-STRIKE WILL BE THE SUPREME OVERLORD OF ALL GAMES AND ALL STUDENTS (pre-skool to collaj) WILL HAVE A CLASS THAT WILL TEACH THEM THE BASICS OF THIS CLASS *laff*

Jamesadin 2003-11-27 03:27 PM

Im sure the human race will destroy itself by that time.

Xenn 2003-11-27 04:06 PM

Actually, if we aren't exterminated, I have a feeling neural integration will be everywhere. As in, you can do anything electronic with your mind, and much more than we can contemplate doing now.

Hades-Knight 2003-11-27 04:13 PM

Im really hoping that WW3 is fought in my lifetime.......I'd be the first person to grab a fucking rifle!!!

I also hope that it is fought in American continent.......no more of that euro battlefield crap...time to show americans what its really like!

Eddie_Perez 2003-11-27 04:45 PM

True, American's have never experience anything like real war. Imagine Iraq troops come to your small town and murder everyone like the U.S. troops did in Vietnam.

uncapped 2003-11-27 08:25 PM

I sure hope it isn't in America. I'd be the first fucking town to get taken over, since I'm in Rhode Island.

Mantralord 2003-11-27 08:31 PM

Good thing I live in Florida...there's absolutely nothing in Florida of use to anyone. Except nuclear power...NASA...Disney World...

Yep, if war ever breaks out, we're pretty safe.

Jessifer 2003-11-27 09:02 PM

There isn't much in Michigan to bomb....Well. Except maybe the (previously) Upjohn HQ right here in my town. ;;>.>

!King_Amazon! 2003-11-27 09:16 PM

There's a nuclear power plant about 10 miles from my house.

Jessifer 2003-11-27 09:25 PM

Yipes. I'll cry for you if it's bombed. And then I promise to dance naked on your grave.

!King_Amazon! 2003-11-27 09:39 PM

Cry for south carolina, virginia, tennessee, west virginia, and most of georgia too.(I don't think I forgot anyone.)

Jessifer 2003-11-27 09:43 PM

That's a lot of places for me to go and dance naked around...

Kuja`s #1 2003-11-27 09:48 PM

If it does blow-up, maybe you'll just be a mutant freak and be discriminated the rest of your life.

Or maybe you won't even be in the state at that time. Or maybe Jesus will kill Santa. These are all probable situations.

Jessifer 2003-11-27 09:50 PM

Anywho, I'll be dead long before 200 years comes by. So I don't care what's happening around then.

...Unless I'm reincarnated. Which in that case, it would probably suck to be alive.

Kuja`s #1 2003-11-27 10:04 PM

You cou7ld be re-incarnated as a cockroach. Nasty, but you'll be alive during the nuclear destruction.

Jessifer 2003-11-27 10:08 PM

How pleasant...
