Sov's antics.

He's decided he wants to get rid of the flame forum. I knew he was bound to do something stupid.

He says it scares away new members. How would he know? I haven't noticed any new members running off screaming about the flame forum. I myself think it encourages people to register so they can join in and argue their points.

First of all, if they can't read the description of the flame forum, we don't need them here anyway. We don't thrive off of new members. We don't need them to live. There will always be new people coming in, and yes, it would be nice for there to be a good amount of them, but if they can't read, they don't need to be here.

Without the flame forum there will be nowhere to say what you want to say. The rest of the forums would be full of flaming and fighting. The mods would have a lot on their hands trying to handle that.

My main point, though, is not that we can live without new members who can't read and handle the flame forum, but that we can't live with a supreme mod who throws out ideas like this without thinking about the results of what they are asking.

Well, I don't know. I don't think this one error should be so serious ya know? I mean, come on. Don't be so tight. Losen up.

Titusfied 2004-01-06 09:15 AM

Well, the Flame Forum isn't going anywhere. Problem is though, that we do thrive on New Members, and one's that actually want to stay. Otherwise, this place will cease to exist in time. Maybe we should take their permissions away from there until they are here for a month or 50 posts or something.

Randuin 2004-01-06 09:30 AM

In conclusion, ban Sov

Kuja`s #1 2004-01-06 09:49 AM

Well, if they want to stay, they'll stay. I mean, I was having a gay-old time in there when I first arrived. Then all the flaming against me started. Yet I stuck around. So, I don't think it is entirely necessary.

!King_Amazon! 2004-01-06 09:51 AM

The flame forum doesn't run members off, period. If anything it brings them here.

Kuja`s #1 2004-01-06 10:01 AM

Yeah, but it did chase off that one dude. Remember? He had a girlfriend....LadyPheonix or something...?

!King_Amazon! 2004-01-06 10:12 AM

Big deal. One guy. Like I said, if they can't handle our flame forum then they don't belong here, they belong with a therapist. If anything we need to beef the flame forum up, all that goes on in there is stupid shit.

Such a rareity we should know him by name.

Flame forum goes, active members go. I can garuntee that. Even though I know the admins wont trash it, I felt I should say that to get it through to Sovereign's thick inexperienced skull.

The flame forum never chased me away, I actually stayed because it entertained me. And I was a complete newbie to flame forums then, this was my first one ever. So there you have it.

Titusfied 2004-01-06 10:33 AM

LadyPhoenix, Running Gag, Lady Ice, etc. were never intending to stay. They were all part of other forums that were invading other rival boards and raising ruckus, nothing more.

!King_Amazon! 2004-01-06 10:37 AM

So that makes...nobody that the flame forum has chased away.

D3V 2004-01-06 12:42 PM

I like the flame forum. Its the place where I can go and call somebody a shitfaced cockeater without getting yelled at.

I don't know why Sov would think this, or why he would try to act on it in any way, but whatever the deal is, if the flame forum DID for some reason go away, many many members would leave and nobody would come. Because if it did get closed the Gen Conv and Chat forum would get FILLED with flames, thereforuth making it too hard to keep track of and clean up all the mess that kiddies like to post, so please, find something better to do.

Chruser 2004-01-06 01:08 PM

There are many good arguments for keeping the flame forum, but there are arguments to remove it as well. No, it won't be removed, but how can you be certain it DOESN'T scare people away? I can't be, it's just an assumption.

Besides, this discussion should have stayed in the staff forums instead of being directed towards a member because you, K_A don't agree with him.

MarkiX 2004-01-06 01:20 PM

I am new at Zelaron..... and i haven't been chased off. Yes i dont like it when i am made fun and yes i do need a therapist but i still stay.....cus i never go to the flame forum

!King_Amazon! 2004-01-06 02:08 PM

I'm not the one who brought it out of the admod forum, and I'm not saying who did.

Hades-Knight 2004-01-06 02:51 PM

Ban Sov, nuff said

Penny_Bags 2004-01-06 03:01 PM

I was interested in Zelaron at first glance... why? BECAUSE OF THE FLAME FORUM! New members aren't always little children, just new to the boards... they won't be dramatically disturbed by the Flame Forum. If it goes, so will all the new sons of bitches that eventually turn out to be good members.

What happens to the flame forum is completely in the hands of the staff. I disagree with the idea of getting rid of the flame forum, but I cannot do anything about it, and neither can you. What is said in the staff forum should remain in the staff forum, no exceptions.

Personally, I do not think that we should get rid of the flame forum. I do not know if it intimidates new members or not, but I do know for a fact that some of the older members like it a lot, including me. We have a nice forum going already, there is no need to change it. I feel that the flame forum is an essential part of this forum.

As much as I disagree with sovereign on this subject, I must say, KA, that this must stop. I don't know why you are so against sovereign, or what you have against him, but it is getting tiring now to see you attack him for every single thing that he tries to do for this forum. I know sovereign, and I know that he has the forums best interest in mind when he proposes an idea. I know for a fact he would not do anything intentionally to hurt the forum, or lessen its activity. Why don't you cut him some slack and give him a try for once.

!King_Amazon! 2004-01-06 03:18 PM

Nobody complained when he attacked me every time I did something, now everyone defends him when I do the same thing?

Kuja`s #1 2004-01-06 04:40 PM

Okay Titus.

I see no problem in the Flame Forum then. But I can understand Sov's wanting to keep members and keep Zelaron alive. Maybe he's just going about it the wrong way...

Titusfied 2004-01-06 04:42 PM

The Flame Forum is staying, shut up already. If you would have read my post earlier, you would have realized this.
