This is a message board, not an arcade site.

Both myself and Grav had came up with the idea of making it where you have to have like 5 posts before you can use the arcade or something, but honestly, it wouldn't help anything.

For instance, draco and his friends were just looking for a place to play games in class. If they came here and couldn't, they would have just gone somewhere else. It's a good idea in theory but in practice it wouldn't do anything but make our activity problem worse.

I did suggest that the arcade do a check to see if the person visiting has any posts, and if the person has 0 posts, give them a little message encouraging them to come join the community, and if they choose not to they can continue playing like they want.

There should be hidden games that you can only get at certpain postcount levels. Of course, our new super duper highly needed sup mod can help the old staff keep these people in check for spam.

What purpose would that serve?

I honestly don't think forcing people to join the forum to access the arcade or to access limited games is a good way to get them to start posting here. What does that accomplish?

It accomplishes more forum activity.

Who cares if there are a lot of random people playing the Arcade? I don't mind, plus it makes us LOOK more active.

Forcing people to post or go somewhere else to play games is not going to bring us activity to the forums. It will simply make us lose activity in the arcade.

Because it would offer all of the currently games now, just EXTRA ones as a bonus. NOthing would be taken away. Some people may want to unlock these new games and start posting and find out that they like the place.

Noones going to force anyone to do anything. We'd just go out of our way to find new games, and in return we'd ask for the players to go a little out of theirs and post.

Well, we could get more posters by getting on the news for something =D. KA, go kill some people in Zelaron's honor.

Where's the server for this website located? If it's in like Sweden then go piratebay on things and start hosting movies ;).

Dallas, and honestly, the connection sucks too much to host movies. The server itself can handle any kind of load we could conceive throwing at it, but right now we're on bargain bandwidth. No reason not to be, ATM.
