Avatars
 

As I'm sure you've noticed, we've purged the custom avatar database in preparation for the new styles we are working on. Everyone will need to find smaller avatars and upload them. While the max file size remains the same, the image size is now limited to 80x80 pixels. Stock avatars have also been removed.

On another note, for the same reasons, the dots below the user status have been removed.

No, they will be new styles entirely.

Check out the new theme, decessor or whatever the name is, it has some cool postbit features

Hmm.. I was wondering why I had "No avatar selected". Thought it was just because of a copyright violation.. Until I read this. Well, if it reduces bandwidth costs / makes it easier for new styles, then I'm all for it.

(edit: Though, with no Zelaron avatars, it's strange to see "Choose your avatar from the available list: Displaying Avatars 1 to 0 of 0")

well, it doesnt matter for me now... i was going to change the avatar someday but i was too lazy but now, im forced to change it cuz i dont want an empty space between my name and the post counts :)

Man, how the hack did you guys lose your avatars? Mine is always on my desktop.

man this suxz can barely see any detail in the avatars now
plus it won't even let me fix it I keep getting this message
"The uploaded file is not a valid GIF or JPG file. Please ensure that it is and try again. "

when it was working fine before and yes I already did change the size of the image and I also hosted and gave the url but same
thing happens

just upload it from your computer, maybe it'll work

That does work for me. I usually get some problems when I try to pick the avatar from another URL. Don't ask me why, but I'm sure the bug can be resolved somehow.

Are you sure it's not any larger than 80x80 pixels then?

Try to browse all the pictures in your Internet temp folder....

so many smaller things, ITs gonna take a while to get used to

browsing the temp files wont help seeing my computer was reformatted like 2 weeks ago...

damn, I don't remember what your sig looks like. I might have it on my temp folder....

not my sig it was my avatar, i can get it back if i wanted, i ganked it off of a website.

ok, im a bit confused...

i tried to upload an avatar... but... the first few times, it came up with the ' too big' error message
then, i made it smaller, and anf it came up with invalid file type...
but then, i tried it a few more times, and it said it 'thank you for updating you profile' so, does that mean its done or not, cuz i still dont c an avatar

is there a way i can email u my avatar and have u put it there for me?

They got rid of the avatars that were hosted because:

1. Most of them were way too big.
2. Being individual is better... I got sick of seeing those avatars and was really close to yelling at them and telling them to "Get your own fucking avatar you lazy bitch!"

Not sure why, but some people have real trouble uploading avatars. In any case, anyone that is having trouble uploading an avatar can feel free to email it to me at [email protected], and I should get it up the beginning of the next weekday.

i just use 400x125
