What is the Diablo Cube?

The Diablo Cube is a side project of mine, which automatically gives away free accounts with high-quality Diablo 2 items on the USEast Ladder several times per day.


How does it work?

The login and password for a mule account is published at random times during every day. Whoever happens to see the information and is quick enough to log into the account first will effectively win the items. Joy!

The chance that the next account will be published during the following 60 minutes is displayed at the bottom of the page. After each account is published, the chance of the next account being displayed in the following hour is reset to its default value, but will increase quickly up to 100% during the following 23 hours.

In short, new account information may appear at any time during the day, so be sure to update often!


Why give away items for free?

Face it, it's going to become an extremely addictive game, and it will most likely make Zelaron very popular. You get items for free, and we get visitors. Everyone wins! So, what are you waiting for?

Good question! I have gathered a pretty significant amount of valuable D2 items, and since you can't really sell them on eBay any longer, I figured it would be more fun to give them away, hopefully in exchange for more Zelaron visitors.

If I run out of items later on (which should still take quite some time), perhaps I'll bot or buy additional ones, accept item donations or such.

I have set the chance counter to update more often. It now displays the chance of the account information being displayed sometime in the next 60 minutes.

You need to somehow require some form of membership, otherwise you'll just have 1000 people from everyone on the net viewing it, but not bringing any activity to the forums.

I got ripped off. I managed to get one just a little bit ago. Said it had infinity + hr on it, NO hr! Probably poofed.

They're originals (non-dupes), so that can't have happened. Like Shinto said, someone most likely took the rune and didn't bother with the Infinity.

It was really, really late and I was refreshing constantly (I'm talking every 2 seconds.) I saw it as soon as it updated and had the game open already and immediately changed the password. Even if someone else had seen it, we would have likely been kicking each other off. I'd be willing to put money on it that nobody else saw it or got to it before me.

Either way, the infinity is roxxors.

I've changed the convergence of the probability function, so the higher probabilities will be focused toward the end of the day.

This is so awesome Chruser, what a damn good idea. Maybe a collection of extra items could be taken up from other members wishing to donate?

I think something is messed up. It is at 99% and still no new account. I can't take much more of the waiting.... I want free items..... I am even sacrificing my study time. Lol.

No, it's still working. It just hit 100%, which means that the update WILL take place sometime in the next 60 minutes. It is unlikely (about 1/20) for the counter to go that high, but it will still happen on occasion.

Actually, that brings up a good point. We should have some incentive to get people to tell others about their finds, e.g. to let them brag about it, to award the most skilled or lucky item hunters with extra rewards or such. After all, as the site grows in popularity, it will become less probable to find items, which will subsequently make the growing portion of empty-handed people suspect that Diablo Cube doesn't actually give away items.

For instance, whoever logs onto the account first will know about the name of the mule character. If they enter the name of the mule into a form field, perhaps they should gain rankings on a top list of some kind.

With the names of your mules, that could be a bit hard. I think the latest one was something like "FKFKSKKFKFDKKSKF'
