BMS-IcE- 2002-08-20 01:03 AM

Easy math question....

What is .05 divided by 0.

BlueCube 2002-08-20 01:13 AM

?DIVIDE BY ZERO ERROR

BMS-IcE- 2002-08-20 01:16 AM

Close but not the correct word i'm looking for

Strider Fury 2002-08-20 01:20 AM

'Error: cannot divide by zero'?

BMS-IcE- 2002-08-20 01:22 AM

>_< I said word. >_< Theres a mathematical word used for this type of error.. I'll give you a hint.. it has "un" at the begining...

BlueCube 2002-08-20 01:26 AM

UnError?

BMS-IcE- 2002-08-20 01:26 AM

.... Heres another tip it doesn't have error in it...

BlueCube 2002-08-20 01:29 AM

Don't say it's Undivisible. Because it's undividedable. I still like Unerror.

Strider Fury 2002-08-20 01:29 AM

well on my other scienctific caculetar it says Ma Error... are you sure you know what the real answer is?

BMS-IcE- 2002-08-20 01:58 AM

Its Undefined. :P Which means there is no "real" answer

Medieval Bob 2002-08-20 07:24 AM

Undefined or Empty Set

WetWired 2002-08-20 07:26 AM

No, it is infinity. -0.5/0 is negative infinity. If you're looking for undefined, 0/0 is your man.

Sirpullido 2002-08-20 09:50 AM

it tends to infinity as divisor approachs to 0 but as infinity is Undefined none of u 2 are wrong

Chruser 2002-08-20 10:01 AM

How about this then?
There are infinitely many prime numbers, but there are "more" regular numbers. How can there be more of anything when there's an infinite amount?

For instance, each time you double some numbers, say 2222*2=4444, there's at least one prime number between them. What about the other numbers? Inf+1 would still be Inf, but we KNOW that there are more normal numbers. So why doesn't Inf+1 work?

Sirpullido 2002-08-20 10:04 AM

cuz the number of non prime numbers grow in a higher proportion than the non primes ones so when u "approach" to infinite necesarily there will be more non-prime numbers

Jamesadin 2002-08-20 11:38 AM

damn I hate math..

Sirpullido 2002-08-20 01:43 PM

I do too, but i've been studying it too longer

non primes - its called "odd"

Hrm..
11 is prime and odd
9 is non prime and odd

What were you going for Knight?

Grav 2002-08-20 05:10 PM

Probably just making himself look like a dumbass, as usual. He doesn't really have to 'go at it'.

first, 11 a prime?

second im not a nerd so i wouldnt know, i suck at mathO_O :nerd: :nerd: :nerd:

Sirpullido 2002-08-20 05:28 PM

what's ur deffinition of nerd???

Yes 11 is a prime number. As is 2. 1, however, is not. Go Go Senior High School!

...

BMS-IcE- 2002-08-20 07:14 PM

1 is divisible by itself and one... but its not considered a prime number.. at least in most cases... for some strange reasons some university books state 1 being a prime number...<<shrugs>>

BlueCube 2002-08-20 07:20 PM

1 is divisible by itself, which IS 1. There's only one divisor, unlike prime numbers, which have two.
*Shakes Fist*
<Homer's Voice>Stupid 1! Why do you think you're better than everyone else!? "Ooo, look, I'm number 1, and I only have ONE divisor, they're sooo out of style!" Damn non-prime number.</Homer's Voice>

1,itself and 1....In this case, is there any difference between itself and one???????

ViciousMilitia 2002-08-20 08:00 PM

first post answer .05 / 0 equals .05

Sirpullido 2002-08-20 08:04 PM

nope. It tends to infinity just divide .05/.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000001 and see how big the number is

ViciousMilitia 2002-08-20 08:06 PM

thank you mr. ....................

Sirpullido 2002-08-20 08:07 PM

ur wellcome MR ----------------

ViciousMilitia 2002-08-20 08:09 PM

militia vicious militia have we never talked before.

Sirpullido 2002-08-20 08:13 PM

oh sorry, i didn't read the name on the top just ur encephalogram

RoboticSilence 2002-08-20 09:10 PM

UNDEFINED

RoboticSilence 2002-08-20 09:12 PM

.5/0 is a paradox... much like 1/0...

1/0 is illogical. 1/0 is irrational. 1/0 is impossible. 1/0 is transcendentally unfair.

1/0 is true. Deal with it.

BMS-IcE- 2002-08-20 11:29 PM

Ok can someone close this now. >_<

1/0 is 1, pay attemption, I'll xplain if there's a pear in a table n u have to chop it in 0 pieces cuz u don't have to give any piece to anyone...the pear's still there, so 1/0=1

BMS-IcE- 2002-08-21 02:44 AM

What happens if you have 0 pears and you want to divide it into one? Huh how bout that smart guy...

Sirpullido 2002-08-21 03:18 AM

well, first u try to divide the nopear and chop ur dice outta ur hand, after that u starve and die bathed in ur own blood

Hell Hound 2002-08-21 05:02 PM

shouldn't it be zero becasue anything devided into 0 groups would mean the answer is zero becasue their is 0 in 0 groups

:P
