Changes to the GameCube
 

If you were to redesign the GameCube, what changes would you make?

I'd probably implent a geforce 4, so you could play some extremely good movies/games with it (I'm talking about graphics, not gameplay).

maybe a built-in modem (although nintendo is working on a modem that will plug into the back) and more colors, since purple is kinda stupid.

dvd rom discs, not those shit small things...

but compared to the n64 cartriges, they hold 4x more. and they ARE DVD-ROMs; theyre mini DVD-ROMs.

there should be a way to transfer your files from your memory card to your computer via serial port 2. similar to the graph link for the TI83.

That would be ideal for emulator freaks, since they could copy all their save files to the PC then, and upload them somewhere. Maybe even sell them.

You're right, but like I said, it would give the emulator gaming a major boost.

There is a DVD player on some Gamecubes. Unfortunately, they are only sold in Japan..

Japan gets everything before us, except for online stuff.

I heard that the Gamecube could play DVDs if the CD tray was larger.

maybe because the gamecube discs are DVD-ROMs

i wish the blasted memory cards held more than 1mb...

actually they hold about 512 KB

Its quite AMAZING.

Note that this "Panasonic Q" costs about 200$ more. For that price, youd be better off just getting a normal cube, and then buying a 200$ dvd player beside it.

Meh, I'd just like Nintendo to start releasing ORIGINAL GAMES. We have to wait until mid-June before Eternal Darkness is released, and that will be the first Nintendo-made game since Pikmin for Christ's sake.

Pikmin was released after SSBM. So, it's the newest Nintendo-made game that was released on the system.

Is Pikmin like Command and Conquer?

Pikmin is really odd. Fun, but odd. It is a strategy-type game, but on a FAR smaller scale than C&C.

It takes some patience. I played through to the end and got the worst ending because I took too long. I'm probably gonna go back through it in the future, but I'e got about five other games I still need to beat. Pikmin will just have to wait.

Y'know, a change I'd like to see would be to have a battery for that silly crystal screen that you have to plug into your car's ciggarette lighter. THEN you could truly go anywhere with your GCN.

Yeah. It's alright, but it drains the hell outta your car battery. It needs a good twenty volt six cell rechargable. You could distract the guy at the front counter of the gas station while your road trip buddy snuck behind and mooched off the outlet. Though, the other guy might have to, like, dance, or strip or something 'cuz recharging bateries takes a damn long time. Nix that idea, I guess...

Solar power...pah...what a joke. I was actually considering buying one of those screens later on (when I can actually afford one) but I had no idea that they cost that much!
