whats the best software for making sigs and banners and such?

Start with Photoshop 6. Get really good with that. Then get either: Maya, Lightwave, Bryce, 3D Studio Max, or any other 3d proggies you want to get good at.

Here is the order from best 3d proggie (hardest) to most n00bish (easy):

Maya > Lightwave > 3D Studio Max > Bryce > Cinema 4D

Adobe PhotoShop tis the best

I think lightwave is the best, but im not exactly a vetran with photoshop yet. Later I will get lightwave.

I like Photoshop 7.0 more. But its all good...

I'd like to mention that Paint Shop Pro is almost as good as Photo Shop, but it costs ~1/6 as much.

Yeah, I started with PSP and still use it a lot. I like the interface more.

I bounce pics back and forth between the two of them when I do editing.

BTW, Maya and Lightwave are about equal. Only place Maya's slightly better with is animation.
