i recently looked over the chart that cronic put up
but some of the things he said were incorrect
heh fps is BAD you want low fps, the lower the fps the more shots in a second. thats why 7 fps is better than 9 fps
and its not frames per second
its frames per SHOT
diablo is ALWAYS 25 frames per second
therefore with a 9 frame bow you shoot once every 9/25th of a second and so on
and on sorc its not really fps
CrossBows can be faster than 11fps
example,
you can hit 8 fps with 133% ias on a chokonu or a demon crsbow (-60)
btw the - or + signs mean nothing and they are based on % not like melee where there is one attainable number
eagle is 10 so is hydra
the ias charts seem correct for the most part but
6 fps is not possble
i had a 5 shael -10 bow
60% ias armor
10% belt
30% from gloves+boots
20% from amulet
45% from helm
thats 265% ias on a -10 bow
and i even tryed using a friend pallys fanatacism it does not surpass 7 fps
btw the highest an ith bow can get in terms of speed is 140%which means you still need one source of ias besdies the bow
and the damage would be crap
BTW if anyone has ever wondered why even if you have low% ias and you shoot 7 fps with fanatacism even thought fanatacism only gives about 35% ias
is because fanatacism adds to Eias
eias is "effective" ias and it doesnt go through diminshing returns
same thing with r/w
r/w from the barbarians passive skill tree counts more in the actual speed movement opposed to for example 30% r/w from the skill
skills that have increased attack speed DO NOT go through dimishing returns

Gj, Apoq, I think you are dead right on everything except the above quote, Diablo2 is not always running at 25 fps, that may be the optimal speed but I often get lower than that when experiencing lag. Sorcs have fpc, :) (Frames per Cast). And I don't think crossbows can be faster than 11fps...That is why Buriza is not very good. if it could go below 11fps then it's 80% ias would take it below that, but even with the best Ias gear I have never seen it go below 11fps. Correct me if I'm wrong.

i am 100%sure about the cho-ko-no/demon crossbow
i can demonstrate if need be
and nO buriza can't get faster than 11fps
and if it was possible you would need 160%+ to reach 10fps
but diablo does ALWAYS run at 25 frames per second Server Side
your computer doesnt ALWAYS display all 25 frames due to slower internet connection or slow cpu or low ram

Other crossbows have a cap, but it's just a lower fps than the burrito. Hell, as he said, even a wf has a cap.

all crossbows EXCEPT Cho-Ko-No
and Demon CrossBow are Capped at 11fps
these two "-60" bows cap at 7 fps (the ias needed is unbelievable)

"burrito" is not capped
just there is a speed limitation on Ballista's
the reason you can go over 25fps "client side"
is because a given computer only needs so much cpu speed/ram amount/ graphics card usage
to run at 25 fps
the requirement isnt that high

and the game tells you the given fps for your computer running that program
your computer is just refreshing some pixels faster than they are changing

Yes but you dont have access to it its called "Ad Mod" or something to that effect.

but i wouldn't reccomend adjusting your Ram amount just to 25 frames ;/
