help me with my druid
 

i just recently started playing agian after losing my account and i decided to make a druid so far i have maxed wolf, lycanthropy, and fury. i am maxing oak sage now but after that i dont know what to put my points into, so plz make some suggestions. also i was wondering if anyone has a 1 handed druid weapon for trade, i have 3 small 100 pdc, 2 large 175 pdc, and 1 3,20,20 for trade. what weapon could that get me?

go with HoW, not Oak

I don't know those item values on East, but they're pretty low on West...Druid's weapons are expensive.

so after i max oak i should put all the rest of my points in to how? that sounds ok to me but i will have to be lvl 99 or very close to max it

You don't have to Max Oak, the skills don't get further bonus after lv 20. All you need is skill + equipment to achieve 20.

no, don't do both oak & how. u will have to be level 98 to have 20 oak & 20 how, after u have 4 in ravens& 4 in wolves, if u have +1 from highlord's if you don't care about the approaching 1.10's fix on max level 20 spirits.

u can do the lame thing and summon your spirits with switched weapon, shield, amulet, jalal's, charms etc. to make that level required to be at max desired skill levels.(wasting the time of your opponents as u spend 30 seconds by your stash). heck u can go as low as level 87.

but there's a problem with that, anyone with skill will try to take out your one spirit or the other during a convenient time in the duel. causing u to resummon a weaker spirit. even if u did choose to carry a switch, such as myself(flesh renderer+lidless wall, mines to preshift, not focused on summons) u do not have time to switch and summon. they might get in free shots while u slowly summon. true the affects of the first aura don't wear off unless the aura completely disappears but that inturn forces u to summon asap.

a druid with the same exact gear & charms on a decent level with HoW will beat the Oak.

and judging by what u can spare in charms for a weapon, i suggest u get the aura that boosts your physical damage, life is easier to get, economically speaking.

these four or five things considered, go with HoW, not oak.

actually, considering your weatlh, you wouldn't have a chance anyways against a zon, sorc or javababa with better equipment, oak or how. and if u face a zon, sorc, or javababa suffering equal "poorness,"(imo :)) HoW, according to the poorer druids i've known, helps much more. more dmg = more life leeched. even at poverty levels u can afford enough ll. at some point you'll develope the skills needed to advance on a ranged opponent with few or no hits.

u do have a chance in melee. stick to melee or get rich.


oh, your weapon... i'd say buy a a dozen ethereal b-stars, shael socket them, they're better/cheaper than fury weapons.


everything considered, you're just going to ignore me, & go both oak & how. people doing so usually go 19 on the how & lesser levels on the oak for summoning items... but you've already maxed the oak?

The spirit won't stay at that level if you change equipment though. It is the Shape Shifting which can still have the bonus. Like...Lyth. and Werewolf/Bear.

no, you're mistaken. it stays at the same level as summoned until it is resummoned with the new level. to add to that, for anyone who doesn't know, the affects of the new level won't take place until the old aura's bonuses completely wears off, only then will the new level apply.

only spirits stay at the same level, pets such as bears, ravens, wolves, oh my, do not stay at the same level when gear is changed

wereforms can be shifted at lvl 32 and retain their bonuses as if werewolf/werebear was that level until you unshift/die

and oak v how isn't always neccesarily true

for instance,
to str build druids using robo zerker
5 edias shael
one is using HoW and edmax armor
one is using Oak and edmax armor
one is doing about 1.5k-6k with 2000 life
one is doing about 1.3k-5.2k with 3000 life

if ping is similar the druid who goes into recovery frame less will win based on statistics

then again

two vitabuilds
with
1k-3k fury damage, 5k life

and .8k-2.6k fury damage, 7k life

can go either way. one will leech more one will never go into recovery animation, based on whos open wounds/crush blow/ds kick in.

don't pull numbers outta thin air to help your falsified argument. reminds me of dii.net's druid forum.

how > oak in almost all cases(not many can even name exact cases where it isn't), agreed by everyone who has played with both spirits. only people who still argue about the opposite are... well... people who like to argue.

vs ranged, oak just delays the inevitable.

even that last one, if the # you made up for HoW "robo" zerk vita dmg wasn't lower than the actual, it would still beat the oak druid.

Anyways, tell me how it goes from a .8k difference to a .4k difference when the only difference is between strength & vita build?

I've been looking through your posts and you have a habit of "exagerating," to put it nicely. the pressure of being a pvp mod shouldn't force u to make up statistics.

and as for being poor just imagine how poor you would also be if you lost all of your accounts and had to start over. i only have the psn charms because my friends hooked me up as much as they could spare, because i helped them when they first started

Yes i have a druid, you should read around more... i've also had lots of other pvp characters other than a druid. read my incomplete guide under the thread "Have any guides?" You've yet to have seen me talk smack... that "damage difference" question... it's a legitimate question, i dont understand how such a thing could happen, really, im confused.

if he would like to edit some single player characters for me with the legit items i have on west (he also must use the same items that he has on east, and it will be check listed) or just go my howss vs his oakss like the argument.

yaeh it was one of the 112,000 because i use maphack and so does 90% or so of the d2 community and is dont under stand why only some of them were banned it realy pissed me off. and just to update i am getting more items i have 7 small 100 pdc 2 large 175 pdc and 2 3,20,20 's i hope to god this is enough to get a decent weapon on east. and which would be better a fury myth, fury zerker of a cruel myth, cruel zerker?

and i am just in a piss poor mode because all of my good chars were deleted it was uber gay that only some of the mh users were deleted and not all of them

I think you should do as what ouroboros (Is that...a type of dragon?) said, get eth B-star. For your wealth, it would be the optimal choice...Shael it for 5 fpa, some would argue that that's better than Griz Caddy.

In the mean time try to shop a cfkq or chip a ccsq, cmsq etc...if you're lucky, you might get one...

i already have a level 90 version of my druid saved to open with a program, used for putting closed characters onto private servers



i have dueled with friends who have str builds who sometimes use oak+edmax and sometimes HoW+valor

read apoq's druid guide for the only suitable ss druid weapons -- if he took that off garbadtheweak's old listing of weapons in the druid forum's Druid FAQ that was stickied(in garbad's attempt to kiss ass, which he has succeeded in it seems), the damage calculations are slightly off -- garbad is not a statician or anywhere close to smart, just a popularity princess.

how convenient. i expected you were going to say something along the lines of either str or vita build having different euiptment. it still doesn't coincide with the example you've given:
there was no mention of gear or charms being changed between the two builds, str & vita, according to what you said &
still edmax armor adds alot more than jsut .4k damage difference
& the difference between valor & edmax according to strength builds would change your statistics dramaaaaaaaaaaticaly, not only dmg, but life.

doesnt save you from the fact that you made up those statistics to help your argument. you didn't get those statistics from your imaginary friends either. you know what i think? the difference between .4 and .8 was a hastily done illogical subconscious calculation of "doubling," as most things are simply "doubled" subconciously, the difference in an attempt to fabricate a statistic. that's not what annoys me, the thing that annoys me is you used "based on statistics" in that reply.

what is a ccsq i know what the others are but i dont know what this is but i imagine the sq is sword of quickness. and i cant find anyone wanting to trade a ethereal b star the cheap bastards my druid is doing ok but i know from experience of my old pally that having a good cruel or a fury makes the character way better than the gay light saber that i am using currently.

after i read the guide for the 2 handed druid i have to ask what is oaksage healing? does it heal u or just the fact that u dont lose the bonus from the oak sage after it dies if u immedialy summon another one?

actually it was an example. so actually i did 'make' them up. that was kinda of the point to give a rough outline

lets say you have 2000 life
and with oaksage you have 3200 life

you get hit a few times from an opponents attack, your hp goes down to 2100

your oaksage dies, and after about 10 seconds the aura wears away

now your life will be 2000/2000 again, and if you cast your spirit it will go back up to 3200/3200

if you can summon your spirit after those times quickly you can "oak heal" allowing you to gain back your life
