General Media Ideas??
 

Hello Zelaroners,

I have been pm`ing with Chrusher about making some changes to this forum and I am in need of some opinions. I think this forum would get a lot more visits if we knew what people wanted to see here. Some of my ideas were a weekly movie review with comments, music polls, maybe even book and magazine reviews with comments. I also had the idea of splitting the forum into sub-categories such as:

Movies
Music
Books/Magazines

So my question is, what would get you here more? What is missing in General Media that you want to see?

Oh, and I also told Chrusher I would like to Moderate this forum and pump up its content so tell him what a great idea you think that is :D

Splitting it up into categories wouldn't be the best idea in my oppinion cuz some categories would be popular and some wouldn't .. for example: people want to know about movies way more than books.. and music way more than movies.. so that means music will be well populated but books and magazines will be nearly unposted in... but we should bring it back and add a few more goodies to it to.. attract people

It's fine the way it is. And no more moderators!

Nothing like trying to get a moderator position, eh?

Don't split it up into sub-catagories, it'd be deader than hell.

In all honesty, I think this forum's inactive state is directly a result of it's placement on the main page. It's set off at the bottom as if to say " here's our little media corner." One of the other forums I frequent has their general media section right underneath what would be the equivalent of their "General Conversation" forum. Their media forum is one of the busiest, and I think it's probably due in good relation to it's location.

I don't think it should be subcategorized either, but I do think that more can be done here. I for one would visit more if there were some kind of movie suggestion sticky, or something like James did (I believe it was him), when he reviewed some of his favorite movies and why he liked them (If it wasn't him, sorry to whoever it was).

I don't read many books, but if someone were to sell me on it, I'd have no problem going out, buying, it, reading, and rating it myself. There just needs to be someone that would be willing to make a lot of posts to keep it active and interesting. I don't think its a bad idea to have Doofus moderate it, if he keeps up with it and makes people want to continue posting there. :)
