Help my legit barb

My legit barb does all right, but I think he's not as tough as he could be, was wondering if anyone had any constructive advice...
Barb set up for WW duels, barb vs. barb.
Gear is as follows:

Helm: .08 Gaze (Cham)
Sword: 297% CCB (Shael Shael Eth)
Shield: .09 Stormshield (40/15 Max)
Armor: 160/60 Max Sup. Balrog Skin
Belt: .08 String of Ears
Gloves: Venom Grip
Boots: War Travs
Ammy: Corruption Heart
Ring1: 8% LL +13 STR -Rare-
Ring2: 8% LL -Crafted Blood-

Base Stats:

STR--190
DEX--156
VIT--164
ENE--10

Charms are assorted max dmg charms and +life charms. Nothing very worth noting. Not very rich or anything, so anyone got some ideas that don't involve replacing charms with 40x 3/20/20's? :D

tidus2005 2003-09-24 08:20 AM

only thing that i suggest is that you could get and 08 valor or get some 160/60 max of the whale i would suggest stability but ww is uninteruptable anyway so you really dont need fhr. the only reason i suggest that you change your armor is because if you use eth and the other barb uses eth your defense dosent really matter.

Yeah, just try to upgrade your armor to have Whale as a suffix. That and you can get a better weapon. CCB of Quickness, then put in 40/15 Max's or Ohms (Not sure if Lo is good or not, since I don't think everytime you hit with WW, deadly strike is recalculated, not sure though... Apoq?). Craft two 11% ll Rings with better mods too. It pretty much comes down to who can leech more and who does more damage. Life isn't all that important as long as it is decent, but the leech and and damage is very important.

I'm sure Apoq will correct something I said here, but that is my advice off the top of my head.

vgrips :
try getting
6%ll
+life/+stat/+cb gloves (6% with alright mods are relatively cheap)

you don't need cham for BvB the ww speeds aren't slowed by cold damage and most BvB's don't use cold dmg anyhows if running is important to you.

the sword could use improving
the best would be
cruel of ala/swift/quick
or even of good suffix shaelshael/eth will work

armor, the Def isn't that important because 99% of BvB barbs use eth, so try getting edmax goth/full/ancient of +life/+str

your stats are fine, you probably want to pump STR if you level
(more dmg/life idea)

(titus) lo isn't worth it because barbs receive 100% double damage from critical strike (same formula as deadly, and doesn't stack)

only problem with pure str builds is, you probably would need something similar to 40 3/20s
unless you are level 95+, with +100 life armor, 6ll/20 life gloves, and alot of +life from rings (i believe 55-59 is max)

Because, the opponent can one zerk kill you unless you have atleast 3k~+ life ; - )

My block % is a little low, was being stupid and amping dex to 75% while wearing a Raven Frost.
I was proud of my sword.... :sigh: Back to finding chipped gems, lol.
So, focus on Life Leech and Enhanced Damage? Anyone have any ideas on a Melee Conc/WW Barb if I was to rebuild?

Apoq 2003-09-25 01:16 PM

basically

20 mastery of choice
20 concentration
20 bo
20 Ww
1 to shout/iron skin/at res/increase speed (and 1 to prereqs)

rest to zerk

RaZ 2003-09-25 09:10 PM

is it necessary to max concentration

tidus2005 2003-09-26 12:03 PM

it is if he is making a melee or ww barb

Apoq 2003-09-26 05:50 PM

well he wants a build that has both, so max of both skills is optimum

Vollstrecker 2003-09-28 08:46 PM

Right. Since conc is uninterruptible, it is ideal melee skill for barb, although attempting to land a zerk can make or break a duel... =). Thanks a load, now that I got a decent net connection, I can start playin' again. Thanks a lot guys, I may ask for some help on other chars after perfecting barb.
