How much for a geforce4?

Im wondering how much this would cost to buy and get installed on my comp. Its the new geforce4 by nvidia.

Eddie_Perez 2003-10-10 12:29 PM

You can't just swap cards in and out of a laptop like you can in a PC, because mobile video card parts aren't sold publicly. They are sold to companies who install them into their own notebooks (I.E. if you have a dell comp, you'd need to ship the laptop to dell to have them install it.) There's a few exceptions, but that's like 1% of laptops, at best.

That 1% exception would be alienware.

sry about double post

Alienware is for people that don't know shit about computers, yet want the "best" hardware so they can play games and leech off warez sites with their cable internet.

Computers arent meant to be friendly. If you can't build your own system, or use a DOS prompt, or even write a decent program, you don't deserve good hardware.

Agreed.

But the alienware labtops are fucking sweet.

i got a brand new ati radeon 9800 pro for $30 bucks :-P but that's just cus im special, and i gots the hookup "uhhhh" holla if ya hear me

Sqrl 2003-10-11 09:50 PM

How much RAM was missing from that 9800? O_o
My cost from my supplier for a 9800 Pro 128mb is something around $527, and about $15 more for the AIW version.

As for laptops with swappable video cards, there are quite a few more on the market now. In fact I think most of the big names have at least one or two high end laptops with removable video cards.

As for your Dell Sovereign, I think you may be out of luck, but check out Dell's website and see what they list as upgrade options for the model you have.
