im constantly being bombarded by pop ups even when my browser is off. Has this happened to you? How do i stop it?

It's likely to be spyware. Get adaware. It's a free program, and it should clean you up.

Heres what you do: You put a bootdisk in drive A:, reboot, and type "format c: /q >null"

Another way you can do it, is go to Run and type:

Msconfig

Startup Tab,

Disable all. But I would recommend getting adware too, it'll get rid of all the shizit programs on your computer.

you can firewall your internet connection which stops a lot of pop-ups just by going to network settings and it will show your Local Area Network Connection and just goto properties than to advanced and click firewall my internet connection

if the pop ups are not internet explorer windows but the normal windows warning windows

go to start>settigns>contorl panel>administrative tools> services> go to "messenger" and right clcik properties then disable startup, done

I have it. It's on XP.

I think only 98, ME, and XP have MSCONFIG, however..

Yeah if you have Win95, or even Win 3.1, then you need to take it out back, get a Revolver, and Pop off some rounds into it.

Just go to download.com and download the adware program. Gets rid of em, and MSCONFIG just gets rid of the programs that load up, just don't mess with it unless you know what you are doing.

Iy's many couse of they gay ass Gator company with all there bull shit, but if u have used kazaa or kazaa lite, u might want to look for a file called "hosts" in your windows directory. If u have it delete it... that is mostlikey what is causing it.
