Submit Personal Information?

THE ANSWER IS NO
Quit being so DAMN STUPID!

You know when you install the patch, and after its done and theres the box that says, [show details] and [ok] at the bottom left there is a CHECK BOX that says :SubMIT PERSONAL INFORMATION:

DO NOT CHECK THIS, this gives battle.net the access to your puter, and I am almost positive that this is why they can detect maphacks because they send a packet to your computer and when it gets the code back saying you have this other program loaded with d2 your gonna get busted.

Kuja 2003-11-10 07:01 PM

Nah, I never ever checked it and i had my account banned for maphack use in the past.

Ganga 2003-11-10 09:42 PM

That's why you check it. I check it everytime, and I never get banned using all the bots, maphack and dupes.

Kuja 2003-11-10 10:06 PM

Lol, would be a funny way to choose who to watch over.

DaMuffenManInd 2003-11-10 10:13 PM

na ur saying like there putting spy ware in ? thay would have to say that in the contract or u could get there ass's busted like cox cable if u read it it say something about waving the rights to some thing and thay can check your comp if thay fell the need to ,i used to run port nucers and fire walls up the wazu and needed an new ip from cox and i called them and my comps stuff fucked her (the coz cable chick on the phone) comp up cuz she was going in to my computer to look at how it was all set up but blizz doing this is doubtfull and unlikely maphack got found i belive when u went to finde the map like push the - key but hay just a thought

there any better?

Kuja 2003-11-10 10:27 PM

Well i must say after the 3rd line im not able to understand anything that you said.

Spywares actualy spy your wares. Not the program itself. What they could have is something that check what is going on with their game and they have the right for this. So they could simply make the game send information to blizzard when there is a crash or modification in the memory of the game.

DaMuffenManInd 2003-11-11 09:33 AM

yes but to see a program running would be invading my rights if thay can see that going thay could see AIM or msn mesenger and anything els going and if thay could do this and a "haxer" found out how well people that played would be fucked cuz he could do alot to them i mean thats a hard conection to a comp and theres a possibilty of uploading something and i just dont think and big company would do that i mean most companys have back doors in the system but i dont think thats how thay do it if maphack still worked i could chack in to it more but i cannot so who knows

zagggon 2003-11-11 12:01 PM

I have never checked it, and have never been banned for botting/mh.

Titusfied 2003-11-11 12:13 PM

I never even noticed it... WTF are you guys talking about!? :D

Kuja 2003-11-11 12:28 PM

It's when your patching game. Once the patch is done to be installed you got a window where you can click ok or details. On that window you can see a checkbox that say "Submit personal information".

RaZ 2003-11-11 01:38 PM

i tried doing that months ago, but i still got banned during that last mass banning.

-ice- 2003-11-11 01:58 PM

is it on or off by default?

Senesia 2003-11-14 04:31 PM

I am not entirely sure, but I think it is checked by default. I might be wrong, though.

Anyway, I always checked it, and I got my mule accounts banned.
