Gary: Hi, thanks for visiting eBay's Live Help. My name is Gary. How can I help you?
Guest: Is it against ebay policy, if, lets say I buy a 100 dollar item from someone off ebay, and they just order it from amazon.com for 80 bucks and entered my address as the shipping address. They made 20 dollars profit, and all they did was enter my address as the shipping address on amazon.com, and i get the package but its from amazon ? Do i report these people or what? what are the circumstances?
Guest: i cant find anything in the policy or help area that addresses this issue right now, maybe im not looking good enough?
Gary: To be honest, I'm not sure if that's allowed or not. I would encourage you to report this to our Investigations team at this webform: http://pages.ebay.com/help/contact_inline/index.html
Guest: yeah its kinda iffy i guess, i talked to the guy and he just said, he found a good deal and amazon was a reputable seller, and i got what i wanted, and he completed the deal
Guest: i looked around in the ebay area and yeah theres nothing about that...
Gary: I'm not sure if that's allowed or not. I've never heard of that occurring.
Guest: do you think its worth reporting?
Guest: i mean i got what i wanted and all but im not sure if that should be reported or not
Gary: Sure, it'd be nice to at least know the policy regarding that for future reference.
Guest: yeap, ok thanks Gary.

The way I see it is you bought it for 100$ because you thought it was a good deal... It's not his fault you didn't look around first... Is it? ^^

Thing is when the guy gets it, itll be from amazon.com and the reciept in the box says 80 bucks and they will be like wtf?

DaFrigginDoctah 2003-12-04 10:04 PM

Yeah I see where you're getting at and all, but fuck it. You bought something for the price shown. If you didn't think the price was acceptable, then you wouldn't of bought it. Just because you found out you could of gotten it for less (as long as it's not A LOT less!!) doesn't mean that the deal you got isn't acceptable anymore, does it?

I know I always look around...

zagggon 2003-12-04 10:22 PM

I look around to see if other people are looking around, and if they are not, i keep on looking around.

Eddie_Perez 2003-12-05 02:16 AM

Wow, Gary was certainly unhelpful.

!King_Amazon! 2003-12-05 02:22 AM

It would be the same as the guy buying something off of amazon.com for 80 bucks, selling it for 100, and then shipping it to you, just cuts out the middle man.

PureRebel 2003-12-05 02:53 AM

Holy shit.. that should be against Policy...

WetWired 2003-12-05 09:34 AM

You could report to Ebay that you never got the object that you bought from the person. After all, the return address on the package is Amazon.com; you must just be lucky...

D3V 2003-12-05 12:47 PM

Ebay has so much illegal activity going on in it every day.

What you can do is set the reserve thing and have it put to max bid and when you keep bidding it'll go up with the bid, and you have a friend or yourself bid on it so it'll keep making the price go up. This will cause the other person to have to end up paying as high as it'll go.
