Zelaron Contest Ideas
 

Im thinking of sponsering/doing another zelaron contest. I did the flame contest last time and gave out a few bucks to the winner. Anyway this time I want to give out Zelaron merchandise, such a mousepads, shirts, whatever. I need an idea of what the contest should be about though. I dont want to do another flame contest. I am not sure what we could/should do? Any suggestions/ideas are welcomed.

Make the contest... um... a math contest... or even better!

I saw this one forum contest once... Where the contest holder would clip a small portion of a picture, give a teeny tiny hint later on, and let people try to find what it goes to. It had to be some sort of a publisized picture, though. Not just some random picture on the internet. The one they chose was (I think) a picture of a chicken in a bucket, which was the old logo for some national chicken stand or something.

Hmmm? Maybe some sort of History Test? pwn for me at least...

Math test? uhh... na.. Smart people who are in college or whatever have the advantage.

History test? Google.... Unless you mean Zelaron history, but that would eliminate 80% of everyone unless its a "Who can use the Zelaron Search feature the fastest"

Picture contest? It would be impossible to find a picture hard enough for everyone but not impossible for everyone. And so what if someone knows the logo from a bank or fast food restraunt that no longer exists.

Whos...boobs....? Do I even have to explain why this is not a good idea.


And in response to the "Just send me money" comment.... What fun would that be -.- At least this way it sorta promotes Zelaron. Plus I would rather spend 20 dollars or more for Zelaron prizes then 10 dollars paypal to someone. If it is for prizes there will be more then a shirt or mousepad, there will likely be a large selection of Zelaron items.

A couple fast ideas that come to my mind that may or may not be so good. A short essay or longer post about what zelaron means to you (sounds lame but the admins and maybe some of the staff would find that interesting)... Umm... Who can post quality game reviews in the review forum, whether we do it as who can do the best one or who can do the most quality ones over a period of time without spamming..... Or... Request a feature for the forum, and whoever requests the best doable (The word here is doable) thing for the admins to do (likely wetwired since hes the code guru) will win. The request a feature now that I think about it is really good, I would have to talk to wetwired and chruser but if its not big, maybe only takes a tiny bit of time or a change in the forum, they should be able to do it. The judging of the contest will most likely be by admins.

Anyway, comments/suggestions on what i mentioned? Any other ideas?

Hmmm, what does Zelaron mean to me? Ban. Close to Ban. Flames. That's about it for me.

How about some sort of contest that enables members here the chance to help expand Zelaron. Who ever can think of the best ideas for the portal, how to atract new members, etc.

Something that will not only get people involved, but get new, contributing members at the same time.

Only problem with that, is the new contributing members might be spammers. If that happened, it be like Revenge of the Spammers. And with me around, you'll have your hands full.

A lot of decent members start out as noobies that spam. No surprise there, as long as we can eventually contain them, they will turn into good members.

Either just reply to each post individually, or reply to the first post of the topic.
