online movie rental

Does anyone use Netflix or Walmart?

I signed up with Netflix this last week. My videos should show up tomorrow.

I've heard a lot of good things about Netflix. However just for the sake of conveniece and price I'd rather just go to my local video rental places. You can't beat a deal of 99 cents for a two day DVD rental.

Jamesadin 2004-03-26 01:26 PM

Wow, that is a good deal. :D Here, its horribly high to rent a movie.. actually...its cheaper to go see the movies in a cheap, second-run theater than to rent one. :P

Penny_Bags 2004-03-26 03:22 PM

Second-rate*?

And yeah, I've heard soem good things, but also, I think it's much better to just get ur ass to a theatre or a movie store.

WetWired 2004-03-26 03:52 PM

No, I think he meant second-run; you know, the dollar theaters. They're second-run theaters because they start showing the movie when the other theaters stop showing it.

Those are always the best. Like 50 cents to go see movies 2 weeks old.

I hate you all so much. 2nd run theaters. I get to pay $7.50 every time I want to see a new movie unless I feel like waiting for 3 months for it to show up at the local video store, which means I get to pay 3 bucks for a one-night rental instead. And that's the VHS price. DVD is a buck or two more. Yippie-ki-yay, let me tell you.

..What city doesn't have 2nd run theaters?

Sovereign 2004-03-27 02:01 PM

Exactlyl..... we have about 4 theaters that come to mind who have tickets for 4 dollars or less. Most of them are 2 dollar one, and after a certain times, movies are only a buck. Id rather wait to see movies in one of these theaters, then spend time at a movie store, or rent it from an online location.

Jackson, Wyoming. It takes approximately a half hour to walk from one end of the town to the other. Three theaters, and none of them are 2nd run. The biggest one has four screens, the smallest has one screen.
