Stupid Aim Beep Aaargh!
 

AAARGH!!! I can't fucking take it anymore! I'm not on fucking aim but I keep fucking hearing that fucking little fucking beep (the one that you fucking get when someone fucking sends you a fucking message) and it ALWAYS fucking makes me fucking look for a fucking AIM fucking window! This is fucking fucking wierd and it needs to fucking stop!

Either you are psychotic and hearing things, or you are on aim or whatever you use way to often.

I spend all my free time on my computer, hence why I hear it a LOT. IT drove me insain for the longest time.

Turn off the sound, then hold your nose with your hand and blow out of your nose as hard as you can. That should solve it.

There's an option in your preferences to turn off the sound... just do that. It's in IM/Chat and click the Sounds button at the bottom, there you can either choose a different sound file to be played or choose to disable it completely. You can also edit all other sounds that are made by AIM. Also, if you have trouble finding which window recieved the message you can set AIM to flash the window on the taskbar when a message is recieved. I find that no sound and just visual notification is quite good.

My volume is never over 1/4 the bar. I hate noise on my comp (unless I'm watching lesbian porn, then I'll turn it up full volume :D)

Yeah, but the beeps are the signals that someone is messaging me, otherwise I never look at the msg windows.

I find it hard not to notice with my taskbar is flashing constantly.
