New Forum?
Considering the fact that this Website isn't strictly for gaming only, I was thinking about a Sports Forum.
It could just be 'Sports Discussion' and then have the subforums. Football Basketball Soccer Hockey etc, etc. Or even if it was aimed towards gaming, you could consider it 'Fantsy Sports Discussion'. I mean Technically things like Fantasy football, and Fantasy Basketball are games. I would Really love to see these forums considered, mainly because I'm a Sports Fanatic and love to rant about Sports. |
Honestly, this topic has been debated ad nauseam, which is funny because most of you don't know what that means.
Enough to make you want to vomit. It would be a good idea, but I doubt it happens, if it's been talked about as much as Grav says.
I haven't seen any talk about it from what I can remember. I feel that it is a great idea to bring in new people and the perfect place to spill out any news about sports.
Been discussed before, it would be a big borefest.
Why wouldn't anybody want it?
Because if people want to talk about sports they can do it in the general convo section. Not many here are big sports fans.
Well there are probably more than you think. Besides, theres alot of Info that can be stickied just for reference.
I still think that it is a great idea because it's strictly Sports. Predictions, schedules, individual team information, roster updates, Nfl news, injury report, etc etc etc. Just basic stuff for a sports fanatic would talk about, and would be spammed anywhere else. |
it wouldnt be a bad idea but for some fans hearing:
some dude just hit a baseball 100 yards and he got 19 rbis and a whole stats review BORING |
just use gen con. Definitly not popular enough to warrent it's own forum.
Yes, it would be extremely boring and pointless. Let's just leave it at that.
In other words, if created it would consist of D3V arguing with himself about the outcome of a women's waterpolo game...
Yeah...
I'm sorry not everybody here plays D2. There are people who get OFF of the computer and watch sports, or even play them. It would be used more than the damn Starcraft forum. |
Getting more then one post a month isn't saying much.
The Sports forum would be doing great (as of now) With the Olympics coming up, NFL Preseason starting officially on (Monday Aug 9th) And baseball being played
I still don't understand why it needs it's own forum.. gen con can more then handle it......
Tell me d3v, why not post there. Why should a whole NEW forum be made? |
No way will a sports forum ever be created. Better chances getting an oprah winfrey forum.
Because the amount of Updates I'd be willing to post there would be great. There could be Quizzes, Massive amounts of polls and general chat about any of the sports.
I'd prefer the football subforum because of the fact that I play Fantasy Football and during the season I have to keep up-to-date with most of the players in the NFL to see who's been doing good, who's been having an off week, and who's improved. etc, etc. Daily updates from NFL.com and ESPN.com can be put fourth into the Football subforum. The Basketball section and Baseball section could benefit from ESPN.com alone. People who actually watch sports, and would like to chat about it may see this site as a good place to rant about it, and I think that is great. I don't even see why you people won't even give it a chance. I mean, you gave the D2 Tournament section a chance, and it failed miserably. Most of the MMPOG games are unactive. There is only one Warcraft forum that is active, only one Starcraft forum that is active. The only real places that are going on are the D2 sections and Off-topic. That should be the best reason of all to incorperate a new forum, filled with sports. |
That's really great and all, but your polls and quizzes will be answered by likely MJordan, and maybe 2 other members.
Couch Potatoes and Net Nerds are like Oil and Water: They don't really mix. |
In other words, he want to get the moderator position for it.
