Movies: Saved!

Name: Saved!
Rated: PG-13 for Strong thematic elements involving teens - sexual content, pregnancy, smoking, drinking, and language.
Genre: Comedy
Starring: Mandy Moore, Macaulay Culkin, Jena Malone, Patrick Fugit, Eva Amurri, and Mary-Louise Parker

The movie is about a young teenager (Jena Malone) who is "born-again" who has the "perfect Christian" boyfriend. Well, he tells her he thinks he might be gay and that prompts her to "cure" him. So what does she do? She has sex with him and then gets pregnant. Why did she have sex with him to "cure" him? Because the pool boy was bringing her up because she was drowning and she thought he was Jesus. Well, she starts to question her faith and soon befriends Hillary Faye's (Mandy Moore) brother, Roland (Macaulay Culkin), the local rebellious Jewish girl (Eva Amurri), and the Pastor's son (surprisingly, Patrick Fugit).

The casting, in my opinion, was well done. Every character played their role well. The person who will score the most laughs is Cassandra (Eva Amurri), the Jewish girl. Hillary Faye (Mandy Moore) and Roland (Macaulay Culkin) coming in a close second.

The music was pretty well done. Considering that the movie was based at a Christian school, there was some Christian music. But I think some of you will be pleased with the music.

As for the plot of the story, it's alright. It's a movie going for satire and pointing out the psychoticness of "born-again" teens. If you're looking to make fun at the stereotyped Christian teens, this movie is for you.

I personally enjoyed the movie on many levels. I give it 9 out of 10

(If you're a fan of Jena Malone, I recommend Donnie Darko)

I saw "Mandy Moore" and stopped. But anyway, at least someone wrote a review.

heh, she plays the fanatical Christian bitch. I must say, her acting is usually shitty and rigid. But she was great in here. The part that striked me pretty funny is when her character and Roland are sitting near the van, after she crashed it into the Jesus statue. "Roland, do you think Jesus still loves me?" "Probably not"
