Random Shut Downs

My Norton Personal Firewall supscription ran out today and I hadn't been able to crack it yet. So I don't know if my computer got invaded with viruses all the sudden or what but now my computer shuts down and restarts about 2 mins after its on. Needless to say this fucking blows. Im typing from my family computer right now. The compaq piece. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I never use nortons or any other antivirus program like it and I have never been "invaded" before so no I doubt it's that.

Sounds like the last worm that went around though.

Nope. And another thing, in the few short seconds I have before it shuts down, Half the websites I try to go to it says that the connection was refused. I managed to install the blaster worm fix before it shut down and it did not help. FUCK :(

Bleh, if you don't have anything valuable, easiest way would be just to reformat your hard drive.

I really hate reformatting my comp. Some new Developments:
I have discovered that it is not random shut downs. I played an entire game of C&C and it did not shut down. It only shuts down when I do ceratin things. Im pretty sure it only shuts down when I do internet related things.

Edit: im almos tpositive its related to the firewall. I activated tyhe default windows firewall through the lan settings and the problem has stopped. My interet is now running extremely slow.

Are there any errors in your eventlogs?

Right click on My computer
Click Manage
Look under the system tools dropdown list.
