FIREFOX- autocomplete?
 

Hey I finally moved from opera to firefox, now one thing that really bothers me is autocompelte (in which ons earch, url address or other forms you type and a list of thigns u typed before come up)

How do I disable autocomplete in firefox? i searched their support site but found nothing!

Then in the "Privacy" section, you want to click the plus sign by Saved Form Information and take out the checkmark.

Why did you switch? It's the most horrible browser ever created...not because the browser itself is bad, but because the IQ of the typical Firefox user is akin to that of fresh vomit spread out on a floor made entirely of stale cake.

Why not just not use firecox?

It won't save the URLs after closing. Not sure why they consider "erase on shutdown" to be the same as not saving, though.

I don't want peopel in my house looking at MY preteen porn.

I dont want them to be typing in a URL and the fuckign autocomplete coems up with some of ym favorite websites such as goat.cx

Then close the browser after your filthy, filthy browsing session. After you reopen it none of the evidence will be there (assuming you turned off the rest of the stuff, and not just autocomplete, of course)

Go>history>delete all history

will clear your problem

still comes up..
eg. the name of teh Pr0n site is www.sekz.com
and u were goin 2 type in www.seek.com
when u get to www.se the bar will drop down n have www.sekz.com!

Yeah.....How do I turn this shit off? FIRESUX is shit@ Im going back to opera if I dont find a way to get rid of it....hell even IE has autocomplete disable option

Don't tell me you kept History on 9 days (or whatever the default is) instead of setting it to zero days. You couldn't have left that there and expected only no autocomplete to save you...

I dont want the typed in urls to eb deleted, i'd hate typign ww.zelaron.com everytime iw anted to visit.....i just dont want it to come up when im typing somethign in such as that sekz example

So you want it to autocomplete only certain URLs? The address bar's based on history - deleting "offensive" pages from your history will prevent it from showing up in your address bar, simply enough. If you don't like turning off history, that's really your only option.

Also, why are you still typing in zelaron.com when you could be bookmarking it?

Just downloaded Opera again to see how it handles it. Apparently it keeps addresses in the address bar along with good old autocomplete (like Firefox and IE), unless you tell it not to save your history, then it doesn't autocomplete (like.. Firefox on shutdown and IE)

I'm going to play around with it more to see exactly what you're trying to do here, because it seems odd that addresses wouldn't end up in the address bar (which is where addresses should go, logically).
