Looks good to me.

All you need is a Logitech MX1000 and you'll be set.

Make sure you don't have the operating system left to default if... if... your company is giving you a copy of the corporate edition to use on your home PC.

Hades-Knight 2005-02-24 08:01 PM

Nah I got Windows 2000 CD, Ill just install that.

DO I have to do anything to the Bios before installing the OS?

Xenn 2005-02-24 08:03 PM

It might need a flash, or you'll have to change the clock multiplier (sometimes they come at a low multiplier so don't be alarmed if it says it's at 1000 mhz)

Hades-Knight 2005-02-24 08:18 PM

I have no fucking idea what you just said, steps pls?

The processing speed is determined by taking a multiplier (which has to do with your RAM too) and multiplying it by a certain number... for example 166 x 13.0 = 2158 Mhz. Sometimes they come set at a lower number, like 100. So it would be 100 x 13.0 = 1300 Mhz.

It has a cool looking case. Thats all that matters.

Fortunately, it seems that more recent bioses let you just select which proccessor you are using to set the bus clock and multiplier automatically, though you could still choose custom and set them yourself.

Not bad. 653 is a nice price too. The MSI mobo I had burnt out. I hope your experience is different heh. And windows 2k? Blah for gaming? Windows XP Pro upgrades are like 70 bucks or something I suggest you upgrade that to XP Pro with SP1 ASAP

kockblocker1 2005-02-25 11:13 AM

Yep. Windows XP is they only way to go.

Just go "borrow" a friends cd and key.

Hades-Knight 2005-02-26 12:40 AM

XP Pro? okt hen...Ill just download it and burn it (if it'll fit on a disk) and then I can get the CD key from one of school computers (they have the sticker witht he cdkey on the case lolz)

Eddie_Perez 2005-02-26 11:17 AM

That probably means they're single user licensed cd keys...

D3V 2005-02-26 10:22 PM

2k Is better for gaming if you are a serious gamer, 2k uses like 1/2 the processes that XP steals.

Hades-Knight 2005-02-26 11:54 PM

I always thought that XP was a RAM hog....

im upgrading it to 256MB gf 6600 and 1024 MB RAM

!King_Amazon! 2005-02-26 11:55 PM

Anything but ME.

Lenny 2005-02-27 03:04 AM

I got ME...is that a bad thing??? Did Lenny do bad??? Oh...:(

!King_Amazon! 2005-02-27 11:22 AM

ME is murderous. I used it for about 2 years. I highly suggest you get something better.

Lenny 2005-02-27 11:23 AM

It seems to be OK for me...haven't had to do anything major to the computer for over 4 years...never formatted it once...

Grav 2005-02-27 11:49 AM
