Its old, played out it was funny when they first enabled you to do that easily, now its not.

I'm sick of hearing that sound when I don't have a message to attend to.

slaynish 2005-03-14 02:36 PM

Im too retarted, how do you disable that anyways?

Sovereign 2005-03-14 04:24 PM

All I hear are beeps on my end O_o. I remember i used to have a sound when i was on AOL a few years back. I wonder if other people can still hear it.

kaos 2005-03-14 05:06 PM

My volume is ALWAYS all the way down...I dunno, it's just a habit.

Adrenachrome 2005-03-14 05:16 PM

Probly picked up from stupid AIM tones.

Grav 2005-03-14 05:18 PM

What are you talking about, anyway?

Adrenachrome 2005-03-14 05:27 PM

People who use IMsend.wav and IMrcv.wav to signify their entrance or exit of AIM, rather than the door opening and door slam.

Grav 2005-03-14 05:29 PM

...What? I think I disabled other user's sounds.

Adrenachrome 2005-03-14 05:32 PM

Yea, there are people that I like to notice signing on so I don't wanna disable all of them, I'm just simply blocking every single user that doesn't use the normal tones.

Grav 2005-03-14 05:33 PM

So uh, just set a permanent alert for that person signing on, like the "newmail" sound. Very distinct.

Adrenachrome 2005-03-14 05:35 PM

No, fuckem, they did it on purpose to annoy people and I am blocking them.. all of them.

Hades-Knight 2005-03-14 08:05 PM

i just heard that recently...i was checking to see if windows wasnt displayign the message or somethign coz i heard that message received ring lol

Titusfied 2005-03-14 09:44 PM

You're weird. You sent me some sort of message pertaining to this, and I had no idea what you were talking about. After reading this I went thorugh my preferences and noticed no such thing as to what my sign on/off notification is.. Still don't know what you are talking about...

Medieval Bob 2005-03-14 11:14 PM

It's not just him. I get it too whenever you log on or off, Titus. Instead of the regular door, it makes the sound is makes when someone sends a message.

I'm on Trillian 99% of the time, though, so I don't give a damn.

Adrenachrome 2005-03-15 04:42 PM

I don't see the option anymore either, I think we've turned stupid.

Grav 2005-03-15 07:29 PM

Turned?

He's got a point.

Personally I just disabled all of AIM sounds. Nothing startles me more than plasting music, when suddenly that fucking chime makes my eardrums explode.

pr0xy 2005-03-16 11:00 AM

I'm so jumpy its all off for me... Especially those dumb pop ups that stack above eachother.

Used to have the sound of a mudcrab from morrowind :(
