Is anyone up for UT / UT2004?

I haven't played either of the two games listed above in quite some time, but I'm in the mood to. Does anyone else happen to have the games? If you do, what's your geographical location? (Useful to determine ping :))

Unreal Tournament?

WetWired 2006-04-15 12:28 AM

I think I have 2004 someplace (I know I have 2003 someplace), and the original who knows where (actually, I have a pretty good idea but havn't touched it in quite some time). I live in Texas.

Sum Yung Guy 2006-04-15 03:39 AM

I have ut2004 and I live in Kuwait

Yeah, the ping will be all right with some luck. I'll reinstall the game(s) if you guys are up for a couple of matches. :)

The gametypes don't really matter that greatly in my opinion, although I guess DM and CTF are my favorites. The co-op "Alien Swarm" mod is rather fun as well.

Hades-Knight 2006-04-15 04:56 PM

I got it, down for it if more people play

Chruser 2006-04-16 05:03 AM

Okay, how about some UT2004 later on today? I'll start off with some DM and CTF, and we'll see how well that goes. I have 10 mbps upstream, but since I'm in Sweden, there's a chance you guys will get not-so-good latency. We'll see, I guess. I'm thinking around 6 pm EST and later.

I'm sure it'll be fine. The more the merrier. :)

"WetWired: [...] my availability is 21:30GMT-0:30GMT, SuTuTh"

That's what, 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm EST?

WetWired 2006-04-16 03:10 PM

or CDT

Kazilla 2006-04-16 05:06 PM

why not instead of ut04 we do cs. i mean ut04 has more but it gets kinda borring, and to me the more realistic a game is the funner and more into you can get.

or we could do both? idk

Chruser 2006-04-16 06:32 PM

I tried some invasion games with WW which worked fine at first, around 200 ping for him. Sometime into it, perhaps when we changed game types, his ping skyrocketed to around 700-800? Weird. Anyway, a few more people to play with wouldn't hurt. :)

Everyone should post their available times so we can perhaps start arranging some weekend games. In my case, I'm usually only available during the weekends.

Fri: 1 pm - 6 pm EST
Sat: Pretty much all day
Sun: 8 am - 2 pm EST

That is not to promise I can always play games at these times either, sometimes I'm busy with art-related work, but they're my best bet. Yes, CS works too if enough people have it.

Are you an idiot? Last I knew you couldnt shoot a 50 cal rifle while jumping... CS is NOT realistic. UT2K4 is more realistic =/

Doesnt anyone have the original UT? It's so much better than 2k4.

Sum Yung Guy 2006-04-21 12:47 AM

Well, you could shoot one while jumping... but you would probally bust your ass when you fired.

Lenny 2006-04-21 05:20 AM

What's the kickback like on them?

And if you did try and fire whilst jumping then you wouldn't be very accurate, now, would you?

pr0xy 2006-04-25 12:50 PM

They hurt... I've fired a Desert Eagle before (50 cal pistol) and it hurt my wrist for a day. I prolly wasnt holding it correctly though.

Willkillforfood 2006-04-25 06:40 PM

How's it compared to a raging bull?

Well it doesnt give as much pleasure as having a horn up your ass. But its something to work with I guess. Ask mantra about that.

Chruser 2006-04-29 11:50 AM

Drop me a line on AIM/MSN/ICQ/YIM ASAP if you have the game, we're starting up soon.
