A few things...

Hi again!

I must have had about 50 unsuccesful projects over the years so one day i was sat there and i thought, "Why do my games keep failing?". Soon enough the awnser came to me. "I need a team!". So thats what a need to ask. Is anyone willing to become a team with me, i'm using RPG Maker 2003. I need a story, a coder (for various stuff), a resource maker and an event planner. So if anyone wants to help please tell me. (The storyline is RPG based but it can be any era)

Thanks! ;)

Seriously, people are more likely to join up on these sorts of things if you have something to show off

If you don't have graphics, gameplay or story (or even a setting) what in the world do you have so far that would encourage anyone to join up on your project?

I'm not being mean, but this sort of thing happens all the time, on many forums, in many different game-makers - you have a guy that'll join and say "I can do graphics" that does a cat charset and disappears off the face of the Internet, and a guy that 'can code pretty well' that quits after you ask him to do a massively complicated CBS or something. If you're lucky you'll get twenty guys that 'can come up with ideas' and not actually do any work on the project, because it's the only part that's actually any fun to do when you're working on "someone else's" game and not getting paid

And then the whole thing tanks because you are left with a game consisting entirely of a well-drawn cat

If you have the jobs defined, at the very least when someone wants to join they know what they're in for...

i've got a story, but im keeping it to people that i know and trust(basicly people that i can say to "hey! wanna come over and work on the game we're making?" and they'd not too far away. sorry. you'd be best finding people that you know already.. people over the internet can provide help and advice, but i wouldn't want to have just anybody to work on this game with me if i were you. but anyway, good luck, hope you find some people

They look wonderfull on paper but almost never work in groups larger then 2. I have a zillion unfinished ideas. I tried the team ting once and it never even got off the ground and then I did the same thing you did... I sat back and thought about why do all my ideas fall thru? Well I decited i need to beat out the mechanics of the game first. The game part of the game if you will. Then I will get a decent story and then last of all the graphics. I can write very well and draw even better but the coding and mechanics of the game in the maker, even something as simple as RPG Maker 2k3 is really hard for me so thats is what I am working on first. This game I am doing right now is all RTP stuff, al I am doing its making the basic plot and the battle/mini-game mechanics. What I figure is if I can get an awsome battle system going, not a custom battle but just some good original or semi-original ideas going it will make things so much easier.

Well, good luck forming a team tho, man. But be picky because its hard to make em work. However If you can find some talinted dedicated people who will not flake on you you will do fine :)
