Has anyone seen it?? I usually dont watch Disney movies, but my new girl wanted to watch it, and sicne i read it in like 4th grade, i gave it a go. It wasnt bad at all and in fact is on eof my favorite movies at this time.

yeah, i saw it when it first came out. i like how the kid gets stabbed and there's absolutly no blood. it was still a good movie i guess. in a way, it's just a more childish version of lord of the rings.

I read the book, and had multiple opportunities to see it...for free, but, I just for some reason can't bring myself to watch it, and I know it has to be good if so many people are raving about it...well...(not in some cases.Ebert and Ropert I hate you) but...Oh shit my hard drive sounds like it's revving up for drag racing....

I remember my Aunt got my sister and I a vhs copy of an old movie adaptation for it. I used to love it. I went searching for the movie recently, and couldn't find it :(

Saw it when it came out, and thought it was great.

Lenny 2006-06-06 06:23 AM

I saw it a couple of months ago.

It's a good film, as a film, but like a lot of adapatations from books, the book is better.

To be honest, I prefer the Animated version... just for the nostalgic value. :p
Which is probably the same one Sov is talking about?

Atnas 2006-06-06 04:18 PM

Heh...I saw an old version with real actors and animated monsters 4 years ago. The cheesiness was unbearable and I became lactose intolerant.

Sovereign 2006-06-06 06:14 PM

No it was real actors. It was old and the camera quality was iffy at best. Never knew there was an animated version.

HandOfHeaven 2006-06-06 10:52 PM

Really? I remember there was an animated one. It was pretty old, but I remember that my family taped it once and Snoopy Come Home was on the tape as well.

Have to agree with you there. Anyone else remember the animated version of "The Hobbit"?

That I think was it.

There's the animated one. Made by the creator of "Peanuts". :p

Loved the movie.

Lenny 2006-06-07 12:14 PM

There's a point. Methinks that the children could've been cast better.

Granted, you get used to them as the film progresses, but they just don't seem to be the right type of children, if you get my drift. Though I didn't think Susan was that badly cast.

THE HOBBIT FTW! :p

Jessifer 2006-06-07 12:16 PM

Susan was my favorite character. Did anyone else get a weird vibe between Lucy and Mr. Tumnus?

Lenny 2006-06-07 12:17 PM

Mr. Thomas? Sure you don't mean Mr. Tumnus?

The actor who plays him is good. I've seen him in other films, and he was good. He's in Shameless too.

Jessifer 2006-06-07 12:19 PM

Yeah...realized that too late. Still...I got a weird vibe between them. Is it like that in the books, too? I've never read them, though I plan to.

Willkillforfood 2006-06-07 12:21 PM

Maybe when they grew up he was her sugar daddy.

Anyone else think that it would suck to grow up and then get thrown into the bodies of children? :P

Asamin 2006-06-07 02:03 PM

in my humble opinion... the move has to much that dosn't follow the book so if you are going to see it you shouldn't reas the book if at all possible.
