PSP Firmware 2.81?
 

Okay, I just got my PSP thursday and I'm really stupid when it comes to it.

I only have one game and I want an SNES emulator for my PSP so I can play my other games.

I went and got SNES9X TYL 0.42 or whatever and loaded it into my psp/game/ folder like it said.

When I go to the Memory Stick selection under Game I see the program "SNES9X" file and a corrupted data file. If I try to run the program it says "Data corrupted, cannot play" or whatever.

I run software version 2.81 and I've updated everything so far. Help? Or instructions?

That's your stupid mistake, updating to the newest, unhacked firmware update.

If you used google and searched for PSP hacks and such, you'd see that they only hacked up to 2.7(or 2.5...cant remember and not looking) so therefore it wont work. There should be more to it then just putting it on your PSP.

Try actually looking it up.

They should make it to where you don't have to hack into their software to run programs.

Yet the them is they who took Final Fantasy from Nintendo consoles. Their shit gets pretty fucked up. Specially the cost of the PS3. Hott dawg.

I'd pay $600 for a PS3. Call me stupid, but an awesome gaming machine + free online play + a decent Blu-ray player = good. Most Blue-ray players right now cost $800+ I believe.

Then again, I have no perception or value of a dollar. I just bought a PSP.

But back to the topic at hand. If I wait for awhile, will I be able to use an emulator later? Will they hack the software then?

I'd buy a PS3. And I'd gladly buy one for twice the price when November rolls around. Stupid Sony are waiting until March to release it in PAL regions. :(

Yes, they will soon. It is a matter of time. You'll be able to download and play PS1 games on you PSP soon too.

The price bitchyness of the PS3 is old and pointless. There are forums that show the price comparison to that of the Xbox 360 and such and it is equal.

Besides, do you wanna shovel out a hundred box for wifi? or at least 1oo bucks for an HD-DVD addon that will play movies and that's it?

Compared to the wii price of 220, I just don't see the point. This December I'm buying a PS2. Fucking gay, all the megaman titles jumping over too.

I guess one of the reasons for Sony's price is that they know people will buy the PS3, no matter wat the price, simply because they sold their soul to Sony years ago. Like me. :)

You'll get an amazing deal on PS2's come Christmas. The price will have plummeted.

Unfortunately bragging about buying a PS2 after the PS3 comes out is not all that great. I mean, your a generation behind....explain how that is better please? All I get is that your to cheap to buy a PS3 so you want to wait til the price drops enough for you when the PS4 comes out when ever it does.

Poor child is more like it. If I can't afford to buy a 600$ gaming console, I seriously don't give a shit if I'm a generation behind. I'm not impatient, nor am I EVER "with the times". I had a fucking NES when the N64 came out. An N64 when the Gamecube came out. And recently 8 months ago got a PSX. Before you call someone cheap, consider they might not have enough money, nor if someone comments about parents, they don't make enough either. Besides, I'm just getting a PS2 for the Megaman X games. Don't make me laugh, I can wait till they fill in the giant plot holes even. Hell, they haven't filled in from the original series yet, and it's been around 18 years.

Not bragging. Simply stating I'll finally be getting to play the games I missed because I could never afford a next-gen console. Don't be ignorant.
