Ugh. Midi problem.
Heya. Started up Rm2k again and made a couple maps (just screwing around), when I started getting midis for the game. The problem is, when I save them onto my Desktop, they won't play. Well..not true, they play...but I can't hear anything. I can listen to regular mp3s, but not midis. I upload them into Rm2k anyways (too see if it was just RealPlayer screwing up), but no such luck - the sound effects work, but the midis don't. Any help? Will give more information as needed.

Hmmm... I seem to remember a similar kind of problem that someone else had about a year ago.
I think BC answered it by saying it's your MIDI settings in Windows. Something in Sounds and Audio Devices in the Control Panel, maybe. |
Do you know what I should be looking at to play them? Because I'm not sure what looks right and what looks wrong. 0_o

I think it might be under "Volume Properties" on the first page.
If it helps, all of mine are not muted, and on maximum, and MIDI's work for me. |
Well, it's official - I hate Windows '98. Do you know what I should be seeing for sound controls if I have '98? Because I'm not seeing any Volume Properties. :(

Hmmm, 98. I don't know much about 98, sorry. I managed to go from 95 to ME to XP, missing it out completely.
Well, it might be worth going back through the archives a bit for the original thread - it might help a lot. ----- http://zelaron.com/forum/showthread....t=midi+problem Same OS. Same problem. I think in the end the guy gave up on MIDIs and uyed mp3's for his sounds instead. If you can't get an answer here, then it might be worth going to a specialised forum that would have members who know how to specifically sort out the problem. And I've just read that back and realised how little sense it makes. :) I shudder to think what I've done to my Biology homework. |
Well, hell. I found the old post and the guy had the same system I had with the same problem, but he ended up going to ME. Yay for me. -.-
Screw it, I'll figure something out. Thanks, Lenny. |
