LCD monitor-> TV
How hard is this to do, I don't want to use my computer, rather but a larger monitor for my computer and use the current one for TV, and being able to use my x box with it.

I'd imagine that it's pretty easy:
There's a little device that you can buy (I have't a clue how much it is) that allows you to use a computer monitor as a TV, for your console etc. What it does is take the input from wherever, and outputs it to the monitor. I don't know where you can get the deivce, though, or how much it costs. |

If you have component video, this is cheaper: http://dvigear.stores.yahoo.net/cohdtodvi.html I use the "Video to DVI Converter/Scaler", and it works pretty good, though my monitor is a higher resolution than it supports for output, so I have to scale the signal twice, which reduces image quality some. Obviously, given the cost, this is more usefull for saving space (using the same display for console/DVR and PC), or if you have a really nice monitor, because you could buy a decent TV for less. Also, don't forget about audio. Most monitors don't have speakers, so you'll need to buy some, or alternately, you'll need to buy adapter cables to connect any existing monitor speakers to RCA audio. |
Thanks WW, I think I'm just going to stick with my current monitor and buy a larger tv. These are a little more than I've got money for.
