consoles which one to get?
 

i think i am going to get a console over the summer but not sure which one to get and i am not up for reading all those flame threads to find out which need your professional opinion no flaming here please!

PS2

PS2 has a good base of games. They have lots of developers and games out already. Xbox just got a bunch of developers *BUT* I've heard of people's Xbox's breaking down.. Plus, day before yesterday, my girlfriend's Xbox just shut off... no power light nothing will work.... Gamecube has potential, but as for now, they dont have many developers so dont expect LOTS of games anytime soon.

Xbox... Lots of good games like morrowind, halo, max payne, doa3, thps3, and many more+Real good graphics

PS2... Has a lot of games including GTA3 and Max Payne (my 2 favorite games)

GC... Has games like Resident Evil, Enternal Darkness, Metroid Prime

DC... IMO it's dead-Don't get it

Just decide which one fits your needs by this list.

DC sould be a good system to get if you found it at yard sale or something, it has some kickin games and i have a ps2 and DC and comp and i play my DC regulary...... Capcom vs SNK.... crazy taxi 2 and dont forget the engrossing game called Shenmue..... but as Sega has stopped production and stoped making games for DC awhile back and have gone into the publishing market for other consoles... so I would recomend a ps2 because of its rather large and great game selection..... then theres Xbox I think its gonna turn out to be a winner... no matter what you guys think about microsoft they still have quality games - Asherons Calls - all the 'Madness' games and for GameCube i personally dont like the Nintendos style of games....... i mean cmon look at the new Zelda.... sure alot of these games may be fun or have good gameplay but would you go see a pokemon movie if it got good reviews? good heavens noooo one game that im very interested is Metroid Prime tho.........

So my reccomendations for a system is wait a few months and get a DC if you can find one cheap btw I forgot to mention the awsome DC rpg Skies of Arcadia! that game rules!

I know that didnt help you choose system but if you want one right now get a PS2, if your looking toward the future get an Xbox and if your 9 years old and enjoy trading pokemon cards get a GameCube

Dreamcast and PS2 are good bets because you can burn games with exploits.

yea that too lol i got a few burned games for DC and the bootdisk

yeah lol but how much do they sell dreamcast games these days?

check ebay for DC games i bet you could like a pack of games from someone for cheap.... I bought my DC when i was in the Air Force and alot of other people bought them too in the dorms i lived in.. we always use to sell the games we got bored off to the newbies fresh outa bootcamp for like half the store price.... shit thats how i got about 10 of my DC games

I got a shitload of old systems in my basement.

XBOX burning game is possible too.
It's just a matter of time for the GC...

AND I PREFER GameCube !

Hey Strider if I were you I would just goto some general gaming site like Ign.com (for lack of a better one at the moment) look at there list of games for each console then read a couple of those that interest you the must then make your decision off of that


My cousin recently bought an xbox becuz of all the gool graphics etc. but he got bored with it real fast becuz of the lack of games ( yeah there are sum great ones but when you beat halo fifty times it kinda begins to dull on you) and now he sold his Xbox and bought marijuna :D so now he comes over and is always bitching and saying he wishes he has a ps2 so unless you have enough money for two consoles (Xbox makes a great backup console) then stick with another choice unless of course you would like an excuss to sell you console for drugs then be my guest

But I really would stay away from the dying console dreamcast unless you are a Hard core fan of those games beens you have none of the Next Gen consoles I really would recommend ps2 because of It's current libary, it's upcoming Games I.E. Shinobi awesome Strider Like charcter I belive you would really enjoy, Kingdom Hearts, Red Faction 2 (red faction was my debuting ps2 game and I almost shed a tear when the disc broke lol)
I belive I have a non-Biased opnion and I have owned all of these consoles at different times ( I am not rich just a lil business I conduct of my own ) and my recommendation would be ps2 but gamecube does have some great games coming out and same with Xbox, Dreamcast is fading but does retain some great titles.
but if your looking for a system that has above decent graphics a great libary of games (not even mentioning half of what well be expected in the upcoming years), and very many hours of fun playing time. Take it from me get a PS2 MAN

I've just repaired a friend's dreamcast and I think even it's dead and no more new games are coming I'm just having a lot of fun with it (i told the guy i haven't repaired it yet & copied some games) and I'm having a lot of fun with "old" games like virtua tennis, crazy taxy, power stone, dead or alive 2, soul calibur, ferrari f355, resident evil code:veronica & more that are coming ( i just need a master/slave cable to rip rent GD-Roms into CD-R)... DC is just a good choice if u dun wanna waste money (mine is 100% "free") and anyways now its not very xpensive...
If u don't bother the fact that there are no new games coming, 2n hand DC it's the choice(till PS2 prizes go lower)... If not, well PS2 has the wider game selection and, even Xbox still have a lot to offer, it's the best choice... About Gaycube... well, if u like nintendo games, as a console it's OK....
