Poker

Does anybody play? I have ahd the poker bug as of late and have turned 100 dollars into 400. I love it.

Today i had a really abd beat that i would like to share with all of you. I was dealt ace king suited (spades) on the button (person before the blinds). The guy to my right raises so i call and await the flop. We are both heads up and the flop comes ace (clubs) queen (diamonds) and 10 (hearts). The kid is the first to act and raises all in, trying to push me off my hand. I had top pair with top kicker, a straight draw and the only thing i was worried about is maybe 3 of a kind queens or tens. That or pocket aces or kings. But i call anyways and he flips over pocket 6's. I have the kid beat really bad. Well the next card is a 2 of clubs. Im pretty sure im going to win and then he hits his third six on the river, one of two outs that he had. im knocked out and lose over 125$. I was so pissed

That's why it's gambling.

You had the odds and made the right move. He just got a lucky draw. Not much you can do.

I play every now and then.

Last time I went out I had an 8 and a 6, with a ten, two eight's, a six, and something else on the table. Full house, of course. The guy who knocked me out had a 10 and a six. Bastard.

I play Hold'em. I just got 2nd place in a tournament tonight, actually. I won... nothing!

Heh i used to play party poker a year or so back. I was never really any good at it but I beat my friend most of the time,.

I've been in that situation many times before man. It's probably the worst feeling you can get in poker. I don't play $125 hands though. The most I've ever won before was like $70 with everybody throwing in $10 for chips. You play dollar hands, I'm assuming?

I put $50 online once and got it up to like $200. I thought I was doin pretty sweet and then I lost it all in one hand. I haven't played online poker again lol.

Grav, why didn't you win anything?

Kaneda wants to play it, but when we've had the opportunity neither of us have been in the mood to stay at the casino. but he watches it on tv and read some boods about it. Uhm speaking of casinos, we went to the Wynn the other night and saw spamelot...:)

It was the finals of a year-long series of tournaments that went on every month. It's a dorm program. I only played in the last 2 tournaments prior to the finals, so my point total overall for playing wasn't high enough to win anything.

A 10 and an 8 I take it. Otherwise you won >_> =P.

MightyJoe 2007-05-03 02:53 PM

Meh, I've won a few hunder bucks over the past few years. Usually like 10 buck buy in, nothing I'm really good at, just better than who I've been playing against.

Lenny 2007-05-03 03:02 PM

The something else must have been a ten, then, because his hand was a ten and a six, and he got a full house.

Willkillforfood 2007-05-04 04:43 AM

I remember when I flopped 4 of a kind =D. My friend had a full house and went all in. Man he was pissed when I threw down four fours.

My friend went to the WSOP and on the second hand he flops a full house i think aces over kings. This other guy bets into him and he goes all in. The guy calls with a Royal Flush. 1 grand down the drain

My family and I all play poker together, at least us younger generation does. We usually bet with change.

My friend Jordan's pretty good at poker besides when he plays against unusually lucky people (he gets pissed and goes on tilt). He's going to goto the WSOP sometime. It pays pretty far down the rankings ...

Thanatos 2007-05-04 02:40 PM

Hell yeah it does. Like the first 2500 people get paid. That's nuts!
