Manhunt 2 gets "M" Rating

Manhunt 2 was originally rated as "AO" for Adult Only because of excessive gore, violence, and every little bit in-between. It was banned in Britain and, although it would go on sale in America, Sony and Nintendo would not let it, seeing as they have a policy of no AO games on their systems.

However, after a bit of tweaking by Rockstar, Manhunt 2 has received an "M" rating for Mature by the ERSB. This means that the game is back on track for it's October release... well, in America, at least. But European PS3 owners couldn't care less - nice little thing called "Region Free", you see. :p Sucks to be a European Wii owner, though, if the European ratings board doesn't see things quite the same way as their American counterparts.

Leland Yee is up in arms about the ratings change, apparently.

a friend of mine cannot wait for this to come out. I think he said he logged over 500 hours playing the original

Haven't played it. Strikes me as a bit too intentionally controversial. I have heard that the game engine is pretty brilliant, though.

Another update:

Quote:

Rockstar's controversial Manhunt 2 has been given the go ahead for release in Holland.

The Dutch Ministry refused to get in its way, stating to Parliament that would break the regional law which considers adults capable of making their own decisions.
