Starcraft 2: System Requirements.
Ouch! Blizzard has leaked the System Requirements for Starcraft 2: Time to upgrade, bitches.

So when it comes out next year, the recommended system will be almost 3 years old. I don't see what the big deal is.
Shit, my computer could run that according to the minimum requirements, and my computer is a turd.
From the track record of Blizzard games, running them on minimal settings always = sketchy and hard to play efficiently without developing ulcers. And WW, most people don't keep their computers updated to yearly standards, atleast I don't, and probably a good 3/4 of the average gamers don't.
What does that have to do with anything? I'm saying that when the game comes out, the recomended components are three years old. You'll be able to build a budget computer that meets the recomended specs.
Just look at it this way D3v, this starcraft 2 game will probably be all the fans will get for a number of years. They want to get a reasonable amount of beefiness into the graphics/physics engine so that it'll look alright compared to other RTSes released in the subsequent years. It looks very beautiful from the videos I've seen and I think they're doing the right thing.
I plan on getting a second computer anyways, if I do in fact move back home, atleast keep my Desktop up to speed, and revert my laptop into my little school accessory, instead of trying to max it out for gaming..
it is getting harder and harder to play any games wiyth low specs these days....
Then again, computers with excellent specs are also getting much cheaper. My parents just very recently purchased a midgrade Dell computer along with a damn 22" widescreen monitor for right around $900 after taxes and shipping charges.. The computer came with the full "media" package, something outrageous like a 500gig HD, 2.2 dual core, 2 gigs of ram, a very nice, sleek package for the price.
Ah not bad my comps a year and a half old and I can run it fine.
It's going to be orgasmic. Like a 10-roper orgasm.
