How do you handle money?

Do you prefer the smaller bills, or would you rather have the larger bills?

I feel that I tend to spend the smaller bills if I have them, so I upgrade to larger bills... makes it almost hurt inside to part with it...

That, and I have been without a wallet for a good.... 1.5 yrs now... so the extra cash just tends to make my pocket bloated. Which results in compulsive purchases!

Jessifer 2008-07-27 06:17 PM

Personally, I only ever keep about $20 on me in case of an emergency. For everything else I use my card.

Wallow 2008-07-27 07:55 PM

Bring back the 2 dollar bills!

Jessifer 2008-07-27 08:50 PM

Those are the most annoying bills to get in my line of work.

kyeruu 2008-07-28 12:29 AM

after paying bills etc. 60% goes to my bank account 20% on an emergency account (earth quakes etc.) and 20% is for me to waste :P

My bullshit meter just went off. No idea why...

Draco, how can you live without a wallet? Do you just keep your spare cash in your house or something? I'm hoping you have a bank account...

Either way, I have direct deposit so my paycheck gets delivered straight to my checking account and I normally just keep my card on me, and withdraw money for things I can't purchase with a debit card...

Medieval Bob 2008-07-28 08:11 AM

I usually have $100-$400 on me in $20's or $100's.

Small bills just aren't practical for anything other than splitting checks.

Lenny 2008-07-28 11:18 AM

At any one time I have about £100 in £20, £20 and £5 notes in my wallet. Everything else is in my bank account.

As for buying things, I very rarely buy something physically - the money is there just in case a friend forces me out and I need a fiver for the bus, or a tenner for the cinema or food. When I do buy something it's online, and aways over £100 in total (which I do every four months or so).

HandOfHeaven 2008-07-28 12:12 PM

I generally keep about $40-50 on me, but mostly use a debit card.

quikspy67 2008-07-28 12:17 PM

At the bar now thats another story.

Jessifer 2008-07-28 12:42 PM

That's what tabs are for.

kyeruu 2008-07-28 12:54 PM

That's because he's full of shit, as usual.

I have my check direct deposited into my checking account. Debit for everything, checks or e-pay for bills.

quikspy67 2008-07-28 05:05 PM

Do you have unlimited debit transactions for a low monthly fee?

Thanatos 2008-07-29 07:23 AM

I have unlimited debit transactions with no monthly fee..

KagomJack 2008-07-29 07:38 AM

As weird as this sounds, it depends on how I'm feeling. Some days I prefer having big bills, other days I prefer small bills.

Jessifer 2008-07-29 09:43 AM

It's either annoying or amusing when someone comes to cash their payroll check and they're all like "Can I have it in smaller bills? It makes me feel richer". Amusing if it's a small check, and annoying if it's a huge check.
