Tough one. >:) Swimming.
 
I want to know if theres a way to event swimming without a lot of lag. The way i've tried puts a lot of lagg on my game, and its extremely hard and slow to do. (make a new event near each water.) Oh, and if you have any swimming graphics that would be nice too. (of ralph in VX)

If it's 2K3, then it is EXTREMELY simple.

Just turn the skiff graphic into one of a character swimming! Or even the boat. And then you can change the graphic later on in the game should you decide that the hero wants a boat instead of swimming his decathlon just to get from the northern continent to the southern.

A simple system i made, i just pretty much do the following.
Conditional branch (Swimming learned = on)
then through
change sprite into (blah)
else
Exit event

pretty much something like that, the problem is it needs to be on EVERY tile. and when he comes back to land. it just changes him back.

Yeah, and it says VX by the thing there.... (prefixes ftw?)

Just set it when you touch the water to make an event set off a few other events that allow you to "swim." Also, when RPG Maker VX complies the file, you will see far less lag then when you're testing it. Also, it is suggested that you lead to another area with water that is "swimmable (if swimmable is a word)" so that you don't have to deal with the lag.

The easiest way i can think is to load it on another map where water is walkable on and the land isn't secondly a swimming graphic which is simple a head with arms moving or you can have just a head bobbing up and down
