No sound when items drop :(
 

That was one of my favorite little things about diablo, I could hear a certain sound when a monster was killed and could tell what item it was already just by the sound.

How come this isn't in Diablo 3?

Because nothing causes more lag than 3 KB audio clips.

You sure that your client isn't fucked up somehow? I'm pretty sure items make noise for me when they drop. I'll confirm when I'm home.

I know there are sounds for items, but amongst all the fighting going on, sometimes they're hard to hear, if I hear them at all.

Yeah I was pretty sure I heard the items.
