BMX XXX Banned in Australia
 

Acclaim's mature-themed sports game will have to undergo changes if it's ever to be released in Australia.

As first reported by GameSpot Australia, the Melbourne, Australia, office of Acclaim Entertainment has today announced that the mature-themed sports game BMX XXX, originally planned for release late in November 2003, has been refused classification by the OFLC (the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification) and will subsequently not be released in Australia.
A rating of Refused Classification, or "RC," means that the game content cannot fit into any of the available categories for computer and video games, which in Australia only go as high as the "MA 15+" classification. If a game would have been given an "R 18+" or "X" rating, then it cannot go on sale in Australia without modification to remove the offending content. This is what happened to Grand Theft Auto III in Australia last year.

Whether or not Acclaim considers the offending content to be too fundamental to the game to change for Australia remains to be seen. BMX XXX didn't quite catch my attention anyways... cuz 3D graphics chicks... not to mention the dog hump...I'll pass. And wut if some lil kid buy it cuz he likes BMX but doesnt know that it has lots of adult stuff? Thatll really make their parents mad and the kid is gonna freak heh.

the place where I get my stuff actually cards, though......and they card me, which is slightly depressing considering I havent been under 18 for a couple years or so

as for places not selling it.....well thats their right...if wal-mart doesnt want to sell it, fine.....but if someone wont sell it cause theres a law saying they cant......thats not right

the game won't sell... I can almost guarentee... unless the owner of the PS2 is a homosexual... or an adult(THAT IS ALSO HOMOSEXUAL) and goes all crazy on a game nudity... Can't blame em.
